How large is your stash?
Comments (29)I'm glad it's a common affliction. I feel guilty every time I leave my yarn room (which is also my treadmill room, my electonic keyboard room, my extra closet room, my wrapping paper room, my plant room and my business files room) because of the multiple large plastic shopping bags of yarn. But I go down there to look at all the pretty colors and fibers; some cotton, some silk, some alpaca, some rayon, some wool. And to my credit, I've put some yarns together in what I call "project bags" and have a project in mind for them. Yes, I do call it a yarn store, but I treasure each ball, skein and leftover strands as if they were beloved pets with an eventual purpose. There are 5 local yarn shops for sure (not counting Joann, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby) who know me at least by sight, if not by name. And guess what??? One of the other altos in my community chorus invited me to her knitting group and THEY have yarn, too!!...See MoreAdded to my yarn stash
Comments (4)Sandra, thanks. I did Google the yarns last night and didn't turn up much which surprised me (I thought I scored some great deals on popular high-end yarns, and I'm a fairly good internet researcher). So far, it seems that the "regular price" on the TM sticker is higher than I've found on-line, and their sale price is the same as on-line. Oh well... I like em'. I may go back and get more if I find I didn't get enough for a typical project. socks12345: In addition to the household stuff (sheets, furniture, dishes, glassware etc.) they also sell nice gift wrap items (bags, paper, tissue), garden items (pots, bird feeders, etc), holiday decor, clothing (I also picked up 3 pair of socks yesterday), frames (also got a cute frame yesterday), books (including kids), toys, sunglasses/eyeglasses, craft items, tools, kitchen appliances....and other things I'm forgetting. Every week they have featured sale items, this week's included yarn, a nice knitting pattern book (Big Book of Knitting Stitch Patterns), totes for knitters and quilters. We bought our Cuisinart food processor at one of their featured sales, also a nice cobalt blue foam pot for indoor plants. I've purchases tablecloths, ceramic dishes, lots of stuff. It pays to go often and see what's new, but you have to know prices to know how much you're saving....See MoreQuick pic of my current laundry stash :)
Comments (81)So i read most of the thread here and i am still at loss here... i don't have that much laundry as i been waiting forever for my only bottle of tide to finish its half way done. What do most recommend Persil combo for washing or something else? I have stopped using dryer sheets as my gas dryer produces little to no static and clothes come out smelling fine to me. I was thinking of getting persil universal and persil colour (megaperls) but after reading this thread i am back to square one....See MoreHow can I sell my house?
Comments (26)Catherine, You do not want to try to sell it for cash to an Investor. They will low ball you sooo bad, you can't sell it for that. Ask family to help put drywall up on the walls. See if you can get a Home Depot credit card. Then buy some nice neutral paint, like beige, and paint the walls. Have a painting party one weekend. Don't worry so much about the floors, you could have some nice cheap carpeting put down. DOn't feel weird about borrwing the money to make the house presentable! The payments will be low, and even though it will probably sell if the work is done, if you absolutely had to rent the house, it still has to be finished. Stage the house! Start packing now. Your moving! Pile the boxes against walls that don't have to be worked on. It's hard to do this all by yourself, but mabey friends and family can help you. Price your house after it's completed 10K under the competition. USE a fricking realtor if you want to sell it fast. It is worth every dime! Then pour your self a nice big glass of wine and relax. LOL! Look at the bright side, at least your hubby is working!...See MoreSam Henery
