Should whaling be aloud?

I've seen on discovery, that china, and some other countries are killing whales by the dozens, should native whalers be allowed to whale or not,? what's are your thoughts.

Could you please provide links to some facts verifying the countries and numbers? Other than the TV series.

I don't care about the numbers. No. You should not be allowed to kill whales. Humans no longer need them for food, fuel, or fashion. I suspect this post was attempting to start some kind of flame war. Next time you should try elephants. That ought to get a rise out of people....

Yummy, escargot. We had huge snails in Hawaii. I would collect them and eat them. People thought I was nuts. It was strange because the Hawaiians ate monocuspid "ope'e" ( my spelling is wrong, I know it).

You're plan looks lovely and by window I'm thinking you mean the largle glass doors in the dining room. From the plan it's hard to see how much room is available but I can visualize some nice gauzy curtains. Nate Berkus makes lovely ones and they give the sea shore feeling. You could put them on rings so they could move easily and then either a small shelf to the right with a set of binoculars or a telescope. Most telescopes don't get much use but binaculars do. I don't think anything else is necessary. If someone were to use the binoculars they could pull over one of those lovely chairs and relax.

Looks like it is published by Scholastic. Below is a link to their website feature on the book. This sounds like it is designed to cross media -- book, web videos, etc., to complete the experience and make it more interactive than "just" a book. Sounds interesting, especially for a classroom setting, but I would imagine it might be stringing along the participants if taken too far. and just and fyi yes native peoples should be ALLOWED to hunt whales in their traditional manner. Some still rely on them for food, lights, and building materials
