Tight back vs. cushion back sofas-Your input please
Comments (25)Wow! Thanks for all the feedback. I have been leaning towards tightback (with no back cushions) all along. As matter of fact, I have a camelback sofa in my living room that I have had reupholstered twice, and it is 25 years old now. In our great room we have been using one that was my Mother in laws and it is probably at least 40 yrs. old or more. It is a classic Lawson with down-filled, loose back cushions that always need plumping. It is well made, I know she had it redone quite a few times. It is great to nap on, but not for sitting very long because of the low back. Anyhow, I want to make a wise decision and get quality and comfort, plus style of course. I need firm and not so deep a seat. What about leather colors? I just can't get excited about brown leather, and definitely not black. Thanks for the input!...See MoreLooking for a pass through medicine cabinet for back to back bathrooms
Comments (22)I've seen his and her toilets facing each other in a bathroom. On platforms. I could never quite figure out whether they just wanted their very own and were never in the bathroom at the same time or whether there was something else going on. In any case, I never asked. I kind of see the point of something that is accessible on both sides, actually you would only need one of a number of things since it would be available to both bathrooms. I actually played with this idea briefly because the medicine cabinet in the hall bathroom is in the 6" deep by 20" wide stud cavity over the in-wall-tank toilet for the ensuite bathroom. So I did think...what if this was accessible from both sides? And in a house with no kids, I doubt anyone would use it to poke through into the other room or anything. And I have heard people in this house use the bathroom. I hear people using the bathroom at work. People go to the bathroom. Maybe you are going to hear it. I dunno. I try to be as quiet as possible, but I am not really fooling anyone about what's going on in there if they don't hear anything? Here is why I decided it would not work. When I put things in a shallow cabinet I tend to want to push them to the back so they don't fall out when I open the door the next time. Well in a double sided cabinet there is no back, you can't lean anything against the back, because it's the front in the opposite bathroom and it will fall out. So you would have to make sure everything was in the center. That's the big reason I passed....See MoreInstalling ikea island/peninsula with cabinets back to back
Comments (9)Did you ever complete this? I have a 6 cabinet back to back island (3 each side) that i am having a nightmare of a time getting level or square. I did use the island kit. It was pretty simple and shouldn't be a problem. They are still pretty flimsy. but not as flimsy as those legs. and the wood block system sounds great until you have to try and screw it in the backside under the cabinets with legs in the way. unless you have 6 foot arms. We've been struggling with it for about 20 hours now and looking for another solution. I'm thinking of building a center spine out of 2 x 4 and hanging the rail system off of it....See MoreDO NOT Buy refrigerators with dents on the back corners or @ back
Comments (3)Wow, thank you very much for that info. Yesterday, we were at a local appliance store because I was curious about the Verona ranges they carry, and they had a large dent and scratch area. I noticed that a lot of their fridges had dents in the area you mentioned!...See MoreRelated Professionals
