Kitchen wall paint color to complement medium stained maple cabinets

Our renovation is rolling along, and I could use some help making a decision about wall color. Below is a 'before' picture and 'current state' newly installed cabinets. The cabinets are a medium stained maple, Bruce natural hardwoods floor, white frost granite, Bottocino backsplash, and brushed nickel hardware. Any suggestions for wall paint color?

I took the list of paint recommendations to Benjamin Moore and have been sampling colors. Thank you much for all of the suggestions.

The old wall color was a Porter Paint called Grandma's Linen. We like it a lot but wanted a change to complement the new kitchen. The valances are going too.

So pretty. Whites will work, greens will work, gray-greens will work...stronger blues would work if you were so inclined. (I know, kills appetite a bit)

If you still have the preference for a bit muted colors(like in your valance), here's the nice round up of subtle yet rich greens for you. Maybe you'll see something you like. I didn't use any of them, I did use couple of greens I loved but they are Dunn Edwards..I don't know whether there is Dunn Edwards where you are. Benjamin Moore, on the other hand, is everywhere, is a good quality from my experience, and I really trust the lady who writes this blog:)

Thanks, that might work too. I don't have a picture of our family room since we dis-assembled it to prime our walls but here is a link to the furniture we have. This may be too 'speckly' for you, but as I haven't seen it on here, I tried to search in the FKB, but either I am search challenged, or no one has it, so it may be one you haven't seen, and it may be something you'd like. I brought home Santa Cecilia and Giallo Victoria and compared to the Giallo Fiolio they just didn't have the same 'life'. I have Butterfly Blue right now, and unfortunately, they have not been able to match all my pieces, so we're just starting all over. Our floor is Tigerwood, which has darkened a fair bit- at first it was much lighter than floor, but I like that they are the same tone, and wow- for once I'm ahead of the trends, as supposedly now that's where 'fashion' is heading, more tone on tone, versus contrast! :>) This pic may be closer to real colour of granite, which flash washed out on my pic

Remember these words: Decorate or remodel in HASTE? Repent, regret, rue et al ..at LEISURE. Does the home not have any kitchen? You want a "new" kitchen you will hate when done? No. You really do not. These are not the last cabinets on earth, and unless you plan a move a year from now? I stand by my previous words. With several ( sorry ) more words: Your contractor is not your designer. Neither is his cabinet source. That's on you unless you get a pro KD....at least an interior designer who will also have the sources. What is the DREAM for your little kitchen if you weren't hemming yourself into an unrealistic timeline?: ) What would it feel like? Post a few pics of the feel, ignoring size.

Yes decide on your lighting first! I was constantly fighting w my contactor making me pick paint colors before my lights were even installed. I refused saying that you HAVE to have your lighting in your space before choosing colors and they said no you dont; have to and I responded well only if you care its done right the first time. Off topic thought do you know what stain is on your cabinets if they were custom? I have Taj Quartzite and cream cabinets but addinga custom wood hutch and deciding stain. Thanks!

A nice olive green would be great in there as well and go beautifully with the valance.

That sweet daphne that tibbrix posted is what came to mind for me. I like a green that has a bit of yellow with maple.

What was the before wall color? Are you keeping the same valance?
