Jack & Jill...... Shower???
Comments (13)We had an MCM home with a bath set-up like lazy garden's rendering, above. The W&D were also in the "tub room." It worked great for DH and me. We each had our own "get ready" bathroom and just shared the tub/shower. When we had guests, DH would move into "my" bathroom and the guests would use the other side. During the normal course of the day, the interior doors stayed open. If one of the internal doors was closed, one knew that the tub room was in use. I think the dual-entry shower sounds like a great idea, but would suffer in the execution for the reasons noted above. With no true door between the two rooms, the shower user (unless he steps through and locks the door of the other bathroom) is at the mercy of someone entering the other bathroom during his shower. Likewise, I would think one would be reluctant to use the powder room when someone is showering on the other side of a piece of glass. If you're set on the idea, I wonder if there would be a way to use pocket doors or barn doors to provide a privacy component just outside the glass doors of the shower? It would allow the person showering to pull across a pocket door in the other bathroom without traipsing INTO the other bathroom to lock the entire door. That would leave the other bathroom available for use by other people....See MoreJack & Jill Bath Remodel - Layout Help Please
Comments (7)I decided to use your dimensions on graph paper to see how the space looks. If I have it correct, I have a couple of ideas. The first drawing is how your space looks now. Perhaps someone else can come up with other solutions. 2nd drawing and alternative below. Keep everything where it is. Remove shower and extend vanity and install two sinks. 3rd drawing. Remove Jack and Jill feature and put entry from hallway. Add linen cab across from toilet (allow 30 inch clearance in front of toilet). Additional storage next to toilet?. Rotate tub 90 degrees....See MoreHale Navy Jack and Jill Bathroom
Comments (11)I like the white shelves. I think navy will look great on the walls. How about painting the walls and the back of the shelving unit navy and then decide if you want it all navy? If you do paint the unit, I would use a satin finish not matte which you should use on the walls. Good luck....See MoreJack and Jill Bath Advice
Comments (7)Hi. If you do have more than one kid one day, you’ll be happy they each have their own sink space and you’ll want a tub. You might want to print out a couple of pieces of graph paper ( maybe making each square one foot). Draw the space on the graph paper. Get some tub, door, vanity (etc)measurements and draw them on the separate paper…. Then slide them around. We drew a lot of these trying to figure out bathrooms. Maybe the closet gets shifted or turns into a reach in closet. We went as far as drawing rooms out in chalk in the driveway and road to make sure there was room to move around....See MoreRelated Professionals
