I like the room as is. You could change up accessories and art if you're looking to freshen up. I should mention I like color and contrast. My first thought about a sisal rug is it could blend too much with your furniture. If you were keeping the braided rug (sounds like you're taking it up) my first thought was a pale blue or pale green gray paint like how the photo Onedogedie posted looks on my monitor. I also really like the rooms Oaktown posted (first set). I like your furniture, horse pic, and the ironstone! Are you honestly tired of your braided rug? Whatever you end up with, just remember to be true to your style. You could also take up the rug for now and maybe just use it in the winter months to change it up. It's very nice looking. I'd take the rug up and see how you feel and consider painting going the painting direction first since it's cheaper than a new rug.

Well, BIANCHI, y'all, that makes me feel so good. I REALLY enjoyed working on the cross. It went together so fast, it was like it was in my head, and just needed to come out. Laid it out one afternoon, took a picture next day and dismantled it, shopped all day w/ROSIE, put it back together, changing it a bit, and the next day grouted. W/like to make another one but space is running out. Thank y'all for your wonderful comments.

The owners decision to change the dining room into a bar area is something that isn't seen everyday. The nook area can easily be stretched by moving the wall back almost to the door from the Master to the Patio. One could also change the 45 degree angle of the door from the nook to the Lanai to 90 degrees creating even more room. With these two changes, one could place a table and still have room to easily access the master. We too are considering the plan and have spent a lot of time working on the design. Basically rearranged and modified some of the rooms on the master suite side of the home. Too many other changes to elaborate upon, but have kept the size to under 2300 sq ft. . To consider... It would be easy to widen the entire set of rooms along the master suite side of the home by just stretching the wall a bit and keeping the rooms in alignment with it. Could get closer to 2400 Sq Ft in that manner.

I have a pretty good imagination but industrial/farmhouse I cannot conceive of. Which of the two does "Pharmacie" represent or the giant D teetering on the edge of the mantel? I don't mean to be offensive, but the letter and word trend is one I never understood. A beautiful painting in one of many styles (and hung lower) would satisfy the eye more, methinks. I gather we're not allowed to suggest colors for pillows or rugs, or curtain panels, so I'm pretty much out of my element. I can envision the first and third rug there to help with all the dark colors, though. I'm curious how one cleans the one with the leather strips. I can imagine many cats being in seventh heaven with that one, though, or teething puppies.
