Comments (1)Two common diseases are brown rot and bacterial canker. Contact your county's Extension service office to ask about your trees. Locate your county's office with this map http://www.csrees.usda.gov/Extension/ Here is a link that might be useful: locate your county's Extension Service office...See MoreWhat's wrong with my elm tree?
Comments (5)"any bad windstorms.. since last fall .. any ice event??? ... etc ..." Nothing really out of the ordinary or that I would suspect caused any injury. Most of the leaves budded out per usual this spring, but just started seeing the browning/downing a week ago with the exception of the couple small, bare branches at the top left. There has been a weeping wound on the trunk that you can see in the bottom pic when zoomed that was there before we moved here 5.5 years ago. Looks like a branch that came down. This year it looks more dry....See MoreWhat's wrong with my Lemon tree?!
Comments (15)OK, from what I read, it mostly peat and has a little perlite..But no bark... If it were me, I would make sure to re pot into a pot just one size up from the root ball so it dries out faster and make sure to flush at least twice a month with fresh water...If you find that the mix is still holding moisture more than 5 days, then I would re pot it into a clay pot....This will force you to water more frequently since it will dry out faster, help prevent rot, and allow you to flush your mix from all the salt deposits more often..It will also force you to re pot every few months before the mix compacts again....Re potting again will not hurt, just make sure you remove as much as the old mix as possible carefully... If you can find bark as Laura suggested, even better! I would leave the dirt out of your mix and just use the bagged...............Glad you came here for help..Hopefully you will stick around and let us know how it goes. Can you take a pic of the ingredients in the fertilizer? I looked that up and it does not say at all.....See MoreWhat tree is it? What wrong with the tree?
Comments (3)it is a conifer ... and they hold their leaves/needles.. from one to 3 years ... the oldest leaves are interior ... and as they age.. and get shaded by newer growth ... they yellow and fall off ... in snow country.. it can be increased significantly by a bad winter .. of which. seattle doesnt have ... just fyi .. or severe drought the summer before.. which again.. you wouldnt have ... it is entirely normal ... when your current growth tips yellow ... and then brown.. is when you have problems to think or worry about ... ken btw: if you track from the tip.. in toward the trunk.. the bark changes per year ... so you could probably SEE/estimate .... how old those leaves are ......See Morejockscot
