Specks on Habanero placenta path ID?
Comments (13)as promised, this is a pic of the habs (pumpkin orange / yellowish) from above mixed in with my trinidad scorpions (red) a possible cross between my orange hab and a c. reaper (light red / dark orange), and a strange variant from my hab seeds which produced a white/ peach colored hab. the dark seed structures were probably developing seeds as when the peppers were ripe there was very little remaining dark structures to the seeds....the seeds isolated from the peppers above are now growing plants in my aerogarden for this seasons crop. I will be sure to keep my c. reaper plant as far away as possible from the other plants as I accidently cross pollinated it with hab spores and made its scoville score too weak :)...See MoreOrange habanero and Chimayo, pot size recommendations
Comments (9)I don't know about the chimayos, but my experience has been that you do not need a huge pot for the orange habaneros. I have two of them growing together in what I would describe as a smallish pot. I have had the pit for years and years so I don't remember how many gallons it is, but I would guess around 7 gallons or maybe even a little less. I was concerned about the pot being too small. Those particular plants are smaller than my others. But they profusely produce huge, beautiful orange habaneros. In fact, those two plants produce the biggest habanero peppers I have grown and they flower continuously. They are blooming right now (inside due to the cold weather outside). I have always read that two pepper plants growing in a pot shade one another and benefit one another during the heat of the summer. The only peppers I have growing as single plants are a couple of sweet peppers that are in larger pots by themselves. Those peppers are smallish and so are the plants they grow on. They have been kind of disappointing. So I would say that my experience bears out that two peppers in a pot can help one another!...See MoreBudget smudget and odd shaped room! There's always a way!
Comments (14)Yayagal, thank you! I know my decorating style often grows out of what I can find a deal on and is not everyone's taste. You made me feel good! Anele, I'm not sure what the chair fabric is, it looks kind of chenille-ish. I'm not up to scratch on fabrics but am learning. The color is sort of a burnt orange-peach in real life. Olychick, the chair fabric is original and in perfect condition. I was told they sat in a little used bedroom all these years. I'm happy to give them a new life. They must have been lonely lol. Loribee, Annie, My3dogs, birdgardner and springroz, thank you so much for your kind words. As you can see I did no staging for the picture as everything is a bit wingywong. It will be a while before I will post the room as a whole because I can not put the rug down until the work in the back yard is done. I have three dogs that would track all that dirt in and destroy the new rug in a day. I do like the rug a lot but for practical reasons I almost wish I would have spent more and got the rich gem stone colored rug I wanted as it would hide doggie dirt. It is not usual for me to have things in the house to worry over. At the time I thought a move would be in the near future so I didn't want to spend double on a rug and size that might not work in a future new home. However, the latest sold comps look so bad we will not put the house up for sale until things look a little better. I'm not in such a hurry to down size like husband is so I am so glad to be here for longer or forever....See MoreType of Habanero?
Comments (31)Hey ZR, sorry for the confusion. Those are excellent pics of flowers in the node. You have more than one per node so, like marianne said, could be a seasoning pepper which tend to be chinense with less heat. It would be very difficult to narrow the pepper down to variety based on pics alone, but we could get species with a pic also of an open flower (face on so we can see the flower). Regardless, it is a beautiful pepper, i love the glossy green of the unripe pod. Look forward to seeing it fully ripen. k...See Moreesox07 (4b) Wisconsin
