What type of soil mix should I use for my Aloe Vera?

Hello,

I've had my Aloe Vera growing in cactus type Miracle Grow for a bit and would like to steer away from using any kind of synthetic products. It is time for a repotting and from the research I have done a 1 part soil and 1 part sand would work well for an Aloe Vera. I picked me up some "Edna's Best Potting Soil" and after taking a look at the ingredients (listed below) I saw that it contains Sphagnum Peat Moss, which retains moisture.

My question is would this soil work with a 50/50 mix of sand?

Edna's Best Potting Soil
Contains: Aged Fir Bark, Sphagnum Peat Moss, Aged Redwood, Volcanic Pumice, Earthworm Castings, Washed Sand, Kelp Meal, Bat Guano, Feather Meal, Gypsum and Mycorrhizae.
