I have a couple of small starters of clumping peanut cacti that i can offer if you are interested. as you probably know, they are extremely slow growers. i have had these for 2 or 3 years and they are still in the same pots. it is dark here now but if you are interested, i can send you some pics to view tomorrow. i have an interest in your birdnest sanseveria. jeff

Happy Halloween everyone! Well, I just did this real quick. You are supposed to use starch, but the peanuts held the cheese cloth in place. Didn't want to cut it yet since I'm going to cook it for pie. This was an easy compromise. When it was inside waiting to be "wrapped", my DH was convinced that those bumps were bugs :-)

Your question is not very clear but I presume you are writing about Lobivia silvestrii or as it is in older literature a Chamaecereus. There has been much hydridisation with other lobivia species and probably other genera. Not all of these will be documented. At least one hybrid has a generally stockier stem than the true species but you would need someone very familiar with the genera to identify just what you have. Incidentally this easily propagated common species is a wonderful little plant. If given a cold and fairly hard rest and grown in a rich but porous mix it will flower profusely. I have had 60+ flowers on one plant when living in a much colder climate than I do here.
