Question for Morton5 or any other IKEA kitchen owner
Comments (3)We used a large single-bowl SS sink from Ticor (S112, I think) but it required a 33-inch cabinet (we put it into a 36-inch cab). Ticor sells a couple of smaller single bowl sinks, including the one rjr200 linked to above. We been extremely pleased with our Ticor sink and it was quite inexpensive. Regarding the edge banding: We didn't edge band our IKEA boxes because we were using a door that was close enough in color to the birch inside color. I think if you go to IKEAfans.com you can find information about the exact edge banding material you need to match each door style....See MoreIKEA Kitchen ordering questions
Comments (23)My experience is the same as Lisa's - I went to customer service with all my receipts on Sale Day 2, got the gift card, and went straight upstairs to purchase countertops. (Well, actually first I hyperventilated a lot trying to commit to a color, but that's the gist of it!) Doing the same thing with two cabinet orders really no different. I think you are required to physically walk into a store to order, if you want stock from a store. The Ikea distribution center fulfills remote orders. In our area, the distribution center takes about a week to deliver. I'm not sure what the distribution center is like to deal with, when ordering a whole set of cabinets. The instore salespeople seem to be good at making sure orders are complete....See MoreIKEA kitchen planner questions
Comments (5)It is frustrating to use, for sure. You frequently have to wait a long time for the green box to form around the cabinet, indicating you can do the "next thing." I found that sometimes, when it felt like it was taking too long, if I pushed ctrl/alt/del and started the task manager and then closed it without doing anything, it sort of helped with some of the longer glitches. But I don't know how that would translate to a Mac. For the harder shaped parts of a room, I would just use my measurements and put the cabinets in the correct spot and configuration, making the room size the closest I could in rectangle shape. If you have a cabinet selected, you can see how far you are from each wall. Just know that if you are essentially floating a cabinet, it will fight with you over it, so you have to hold it exactly where you want it a little longer until it quits arguing and trying to put it where it thinks it should be. Also, if you have the cabinet selected, move it to the center of the room, then click the rotate button. There will be light colored arrows around the cabinet and if you hover around those, your cursor will turn round and then you can rotate a cabinet to face the direction you want it and move it that way....See MoreIkea kitchen delivery issues?
Comments (10)Yes, we have ordered a pretty simple kitchen for delivery in Denmark and have to order several times. Some items could not be delivered, unless we tried a week later. Then, other items could not be. Just yesterday, an item came available for delivery, but not click and collect. An hour later, er could choose click and collect. We are receiving a third order today for the same kitchen we first ordered months . Would expect a company like IKEA to have a better grip on logistics and user experience....See Morem_gabriel
