Some are Sedum, and I think I also see Sempervivum (the rosette shaped, peeking from under a Sedum). Can you post pictures of individual plants, preferably with numbers to help with ID?

Can't give IDs, but just don't water too much.

The fuzzy leaves make the ID a bit easier, for me at least. My guess would be Echeveria pulvinata, though Echeveria setosa also has fuzzy leaves. There is an Echeveria 'Doris Taylor' that is a hybrid of the 2 if I remember correctly. As with most Echeverias they like full sun, but must be acclimatized to it. "Fuzzy" Echeveria are reported to be more cold hardy than the other species and said to withstand temperatures down to around 25F (though I've never personally tested this) Still think it might be getting too much water. Your watering frequency seems correct but it still looks overwatered, making me think that the soil isn't drying out fast enough. I only say this because the lower leaves look a bit translucent which I think is caused by excess water, kind of like edema. Could try changing it to a faster draining soil (repot it with more pumice or perlite) and see if that helps, or reduce watering a bit to like once a week or every 10 days.. just don't let the roots dry out too much or they may have problems. Hopefully someone else will weigh in on this, I'm still a novice when it comes to succulents.

Hi Rebecca, I think you might have had already ID-ed your own plant correctly. It looks like a very weak and etiolated thyrsiflora. These plants are very resilient and are quite difficult to kill, unless you give them constant attention and overwater them. My question is how does the roots look like when you potted it up? As you said it was only a cutting when you received it. If there is no roots in existence, your plant will eventually wilt into nothing. If you do ever see signs of roots, do not pluck off the lower leaves until they are completely dry, as that what these plants do, they cannibalize their lower leaves to produce more energy for its stem and roots. If you pull away semi-wilted leaves, you are essentially removing food from the plant that it still can utilize. My last piece of advise is, stay away from recycling organic soils. Use sterilize new soil as much as you can if you want to grow plants in containers, or sterilize the soil yourself by adding boiling water to it and microwave the soil for about 3-4 minutes - cool it then plant your plant into it. I'm also afraid to say you might be drowning your plant with too much DE powder. It looks like a pudding covering the soil, that's not how soil should be for healthy plants. Happy Growing. Bernard

Cristina Is the soil you used (cacti&succulent soil) made by you or bought? If purchased, are those ingredients listed on the bag? I am sorry to say but mix of loam, sand and peat is not suitable for succulents. They need potting mix, quite grainy, that allows for good drainage and air exchange. It would not be one made of fine particulates you are mentioning. I am not quite sure about correct names of your succulents, but they all need just about the same: well draining mix, container with drainage hole, good air circulation, good light. Leaning could be caused by wet conditions that weaken the stems, or by lack of light. The 3rd plant may be Crassula ovata, the jade plant. I am surprised that it lived in darker conditions and overwatered for years. I think you are doing right thing by letting it spend time outdoors as much as possible, but the mix should be replaced. Especially if the roots were in poor condition - they could deteriorate further by being in water retaining mix. The pot looks little large for the plant. Bigger pot contains much more soil and if it has poor drainage, overwatering could happen very easily. It could be very nice plant; the coloration is happening from the sunlight and there is nothing wrong with that.

I’m not good at identification but basic succulent care is as follows: Lots of light, pots with holes and fast draining soil. Often recommended here is commercial cactus and succulent mix combined 50-50 with pumice or perlite available from your nursery. Don’t overwater.

You have a mix of Sedum including Sedum acre, reflexum and spurium with a Sempervivum peeking out in the 2nd pic. They all enjoy sun and as said do not over water.

They can be grown indoors but you could plant them outside if you chose.

Sempervivum do not do well when brought inside for winter, hardy to Z3-4. The Sedums are nearly as hardy.

is there drainage in that pot?? .. thats very important as to watering ... insert finger.. and do not water.. until its dry in there ...

in my MI ... i would not put that shallow a pot in the sun ... excet for the fact that they are sedums.. and you can barely kill them if you wanted .. lol ..

to simplify it.. they are full sun.. carp soil plants .. they live in my sand.. with no water after the first year ... and therein lies the rub to trying to make them a winter houseplant.. not enough sun.. and most likely the potting media will hold too much water ...

ergo.. i would plant them out in fall ... in native soil.. and get rid of the media .. and i would separate the plants ... not plant the whole gob ... you could have a nice 2 or 3 foot square garden with them .. so start prepping the bed now.. and plant in fall ...

and in a few years.. you can start planting them everywhere .. as they will multiply with abandon.. but not in a bad way ... and broken off part can be rooted.. and planted out.. often.. just sticking them in the ground ...
