Help - planted Anise Hyssop in wrong spot I think
Comments (12)What you have is an Agastache, not a true mint (Mentha). While they are in the same family, 'Golden Jubilee' Agastache acts entirely different, it does not have underground runners like mint. It does reseed readily, but the seedlings are very easy to pull, so I would not consider it invasive in the least. You can simply cut back the flower heads before they go to seed if you want to avoid pulling seedlings in spring, but the chickadees like the seed so I don't mind ;-) The foliage on mine starts of low and mound-y (with lovely purple tinge to them) and then it begins to grow up into a plant like yours. In my garden it reaches about three feet tall and maybe two feet wide. I agree that it isn't as nice looking at this stage, when you can see the "skeleton" of the plant, lol. By the way, my plant always seems to have those pale sickly looking leaves at the bottom and interior. Think that is just the nature of this plant... Planting something in front of it that is bushy will help hide it. It certainly isn't my favorite plants, but I would not consider it a mistake on my part to have planted it. ;-) I agree with gardenweed. Wait for the daffs to die down and then move the Agastache if you want to keep it. CMK...See MoreOne Drawer Pull Or Two Drawer Pulls?
Comments (14)Did any of you do one pull and wish you had two? I have one pull on all drawers, no matter what the width. I have 27s, 30s and 33s. Not even for one second did I regret going with one only. I'm into convenience, form following function, etc. I don't know if a drawer would get messed up if you only pull one when you have two installed, since you're always pulling from the one side, but I don't want to find out the hard way. Anyway, I like the look of one pull only. So for those trying to decide, I'd say to ask yourself the following questions: -- Do I like the look of two better than one? -- Do I like that look enough to make it worth having to use two hands to open the drawer every time? Only you can answer for yourself, there's no right or wrong answer except as it applies to your own situation. I will say that having had kitchens where two hands were required for things that could have been accomplished with one, there's just no contest....See MoreNo Room to Install Drawer Pulls, Need Advice
Comments (10)Great ideas, thanks everyone. I haven't installed anything, just penciled in the spots until I got to that one problem door. I will think about installing it lower for now, but that touch latch idea is priceless. I'd save about $150 of money with those latches as opposed to knobs. Not as aesthetically pleasing, but I bet buyers will go, "How cool is that?" when they open the doors. I wonder if you could do that with drawers and lazy susans......See Morewrong size pull installed
Comments (12)It looks fine. It's low on the ground. I bet a year from now, or even next month, you won't even notice. Take the $ you would have spent "fixing" this and treat yourself to a massage--you finished your project--hurrah! ;)...See MoreVertise
