Corn on the cob was served at a picnic yesterday here in Pennsylvania. I can't eat it, but everyone who did raved about how extra special good it was. The market where it was bought said it came from Georgia! No local corn or tomatoes here yet.

We went to the farm store yesterday and got a bunch of fresh picked tomatoes, red potatoes and corn on the cob. Absolutely wonderful flavor. The corn was some of the best ever. Tonight we will have country style ribs grilled, sliced tomatoes, corn and steamed Brussels sprouts. I love shopping the farm store. I bought a little watermelon and cantelope for dessert.

No local tomatoes or corn yet here either. Glenda, your description makes my mouth water! I'm happy you get to celebrate the 4th so deliciously. I will just have to be patient for awhile longer. :)

I would love a good ear of corn, preferably Silver Queen but I'm not eating carbs so that's a no no.

For the Fourth we had bar-b-q pork sandwiches, deviled eggs, cole slaw & fresh corn on the cob-yum!

It's at least another two to three weeks before we get local tomatoes and corn. Can't wait.

A plus, peaches are in season here and so delicious!

First tomato from my garden today but no good corn yet. I keep buying it. Wegmans is the best but nothing local yet.

I'll tell you what's great this year (besides corn! It is good), watermelon. It seems to be having a particularly good year.

Been craving a good cantaloupe, Today I'm going by Andy's curb market. Love cantaloupe with cottage cheese.

I've had really good corn this year but all cantaloupes have been terrible for some reason. We've got one tomato that fell off the bush that is almost ready to eat--can hardly wait. Glenda, that combo does sound delish!
