I do not take baths more than once a year so I asked a realtor if a shower only master was an ok situation in my area and she said yes if I had a larger walkin shower and another tub elsewhere in the house. So I added a large jetted walk in shower only in my addition. If you love baths than I would do a small walk in shower and separate tub not a combo. Most adults do not want to climb in and out of a tub/shower combo now a days. You could also decide is closet space more important than a five piece or maybe do a single sink to gain square ft space for both a tub and shower. i would think if you change the closet to 11x8.5 and the bath to 11x13 you can get everything you want....

Thank you cpartist & suzanne_m I went to my architect and moving the entrance to my MBR is a no go at this point. She was impressed with the MBA design to square off the wall and move my bathroom fixtures around. I totally understand about the towers taking over and I like the look but I'm only going to do a six foot run with two sinks so I think it would be too cramped to have one in the center. I also plan on doing a frosted glass door in WC for some natural light. She suggested I do a a small tray ceiling in bath to match the bedroom since it's easy enough to do since this part is an extension. My Hall bathroom I will have the shower on the back wall with the sink and toilet on one side and some storage on the opposite side. Although she forgot and drew the door too far over. But I can handle that with the contractor. Thanks again I have attached a photo. Kind of hard to see fixtures on it.

A couple of things. How many shower heads will you have? If you don't plan on 2 people taking showers at the same time, I think you could go 5' long on the shower and have that wall line up, with the toilet wall. I don't know if that is important to you. I have a 5' long shower and it is plenty long for showering. I am glad I didn't go bigger because there would have been more to wipe down. I like the window in the toilet room, because it adds a view. I wished there was an entry into the closet from the bathroom, so I would be able to access my clothing/dressing room following my shower. Otherwise I see you have to go into the bedroom and into the entry hall to access the closet. Not too big a deal, unless the bedroom/hall doorway is open. No plumbing in the exterior walls. In Montana it may be against code. I don't know how thick a wall would need to be to accommodate enough insulation to allow plumbing in the walls. Kitchen: I know this isn't part of your question, but have you posted over on the kitchen forum yet? I see 2 things from your plan that might be a problem. The first is the frig next to the cook top. There is a phrase over there that help people understand the layout of a kitchen. It goes, "ice, water, stone, fire". So this means that the ice (refrigerator) wouldn't be next to the fire (cook top). So Refrigerator (ice), sink (water), counter top for prep (stone), then the cooking area (fire), is the order for most efficiency in the kitchen. The second thing, is the pantry. I'd prefer that the pantry opened into the kitchen. But I wouldn't want it hard to access from the car either, for unloading groceries.

Off the top of my head is below: (all the doorways are shown as 'openings' because of the limitations of ikea planner - could def put doors in!) - Create a small hallway from the bedroom (that has lots of room for storage) where you either turn left into the closet or turn right into the bathroom - spacious water closet (with a window on the left wall) - room for two vanities (nearly 7' of space for the vanities) - 4x5' shower - alcove for the tub (to face the window - assuming that can still go on the left wall) Bath only floor plan crooked 3D view =) Overlaid on house floor plan
