Need advice on living room layout and decor
Comments (5)@ Rachel H We've created a layout for you with approximate dimensions from the pictures. So many options for colors that would work with those cushions and that rug! Warm tones of coral/ rust or even mustard would brighten up the room. Once you choose the colors on your chair you could add pillows that reflect those colors. You could place a couple of ottomans that can be moved around wherever required. As @My House says, you could add a slim console table and art/ Mirrours to the long wall by the door and create a nice looking entryway! We have made you another layout here. You can add or replace furniture and move them around to create your own layouts in interactive 3D designs here and also render your own photorealistic images here!...See MoreFurniture layout advice for new Living room
Comments (1)What is on those walls? The floor is very busy and contemporary and really doesn't go with the bay window...See MoreHow to layout living room when it's also a guest room? I need advice!!
Comments (3)I would use the den as TV area with TV between the built-in bookcases. Then do a back-to-back arrangement with two sofas (they don't have to match) and a rolling sofa table between them. The one in the den would be the guest bed. When you have guests, simply roll the sofa table under a window and close the sliding door. As an office, place a desk facing the window if you need good light for online conferences, or put it on the wall if you don't do that. A rolling desk chair can move out of the way for the sofa to be opened. In the living room side, use a round dining table in the corner right of the fireplace. A coffee table 12-18" from the sofa and perhaps a pair of small scale upholstered armchairs in an "L" with the sofa, their backs to the window. Art, not TV, above the mantel....See MoreSearching for advice! Best way to design layout for my living room?
Comments (9)@Jessica L. Ah….I'm a sucker for a sofa under windows, so I can curl up in one corner and watch the world go by…or just sit there. I think I'm part cat. Empty nesters...us too. I kept thinking we'd have company over, but we don't. Glad you do. I liked having the kids and grandkids over. I hope to do that again soon. So this is your only room for entertaining? You two must be a very warm and welcoming pair. When more than 4-5 people come over is it family or friends, either or both? What do you do? All watch a game in that room? Have conversations all over the house? Are these family holiday or other gatherings? I mean if it's family, yes you need a place to sit, but chairs will get moved all over and there's card tables and folding chairs. If it's other couples like yourselves, then I guess it's more formal than family. I'm just trying to get a feel for the demands on your room. Do you like sectionals? Or would you be ok with a sofa and 1 or 2 chairs except for when you have company? If you are getting a sectional for extra seating, let me know. I'll try to get over my dislike of them.🥴 If I was a loner introvert who never had company, I'd like the sofa and a comfy chair with ottoman option. Then I'd put up a card table and put together a puzzle on it. With your gang coming over, I could see a sofa and two chairs and still have folding chairs ready. But that's what you have. Are you looking for a change? Is that why you are looking for a sectional? I guess whatever furniture you get, avoid the big bulky overstuffed type and go for lean trim lines. But if you want a sectional... You have my support of your Option 2....See Moreingrid_vc so. CA zone 9
