Thank you all for your replies. After getting a closer look I think my hummer is a female. I think its a broadtail hummingbird because she looks just like a female rubythroated one. I see her every morning right before going off to work and then again when I get home about 5:30pm. I also feed finches and she seems rather jumpy and nervous when they are flying around. Back in New Jersey the hummers didn't seem to mind other birds, they were to busy chasing each other away from the flowers and feeders. I'm hoping she has a nest near by. Does anyone know whether mother hummers "show" their babies where the feeders are? Or are they on their own once they leave the nest? Another question, I'm thinking about getting a new tree in my backyard but want to get one the hummers can use for nesting or nectar. Anyone know of such a tree? Thanks again.

ARS classes it as "Russet". Better than "white" I guess, and not really "Mauve". Mine is growing on the porch, so it is in part shade and was more lavender. Stacey, I loved The Stand. Originally as published. I think professional editors are professional for reason. That being said, I think my most favorite Stephen King book was a little known one he co-authored with Peter Straub (who wrote Ghost Story). This has been one of my all time favorite books - both for it's fantasy and it's horror. Several studios have tried to make it into a movie/mini series. I think Ron Howard is the latest to attempt it. I would recommend it as equal, but different, to The Stand.
