Rainforest Sunrise replacement for Maui Buttercups

I bought 2 Maui Buttercups last year, looking for small
corrugated golds. They declined really badly and were bug magnets as the season
wore on. It was a banner year for earwigs. I think I might have held on to them
too long before they were planted, as I was redoing the whole bed.

They were 2.5 L when planted but were smaller specimens to
begin with. One came back well enough. The other sprouted 2 miniature leaves
this spring but those have now disappeared within the last 2 weeks.

I bought an impulse purchase Rainforest Sunrise 3 weeks ago
on a distant shopping trip. Upon looking
it up, I saw that it is a sport of Maui Buttercups.

This seems like hosta precognition on my part. Could be the
perfect replacement for the presumably dead MB (do I wait? Dig up the root ball
and move to a nursery bed to await developments?).

Assuming a few things….

Does the gold center stay gold? It will be in shade, with a
certain amount of dappled sun in late morning to late afternoon. Does the green
edge get wider in more shade? Green or blue?

Do sports generally maintain the same form and habit as the
original, being basically color variations? If so, it might just be a Maui
Buttercups with a green edge. Corrugation the same? Thanks!
