Help with picking a bathroom vanity top for my vanity

I've been looking online and then looked at Home Depot and Lowe's and still cannot decide on which one to choose. I have a brown colored vanity [not sure of the exact color] so I was looking at a tan/beige granite that has a speckled look to it. I want to keep silver fixtures or maybe pewter. How does granite hold up in a bathroom? I know you have to seal it first, correct? I've seen where some people have complained about water stains appearing. Is that if the granite is not that good? I guess like anything else, you get good and cheaper product of the same material.
I didn't want to spend a whole lot since I'm retired and can't afford a lot so thought I'd ask here. I want something that will look nice and not that cheap stuff:). I figured around $200 to get a nice top. Also, how much would a handyman charge for installing it? Just the top and the faucets. Sink is already sealed with the top.
Thanks,
