Age? That's not very helpful. How about your diet? When I eat crappy I feel crappy. Less carbs. More protein. Not enough exercise? Also those could be the cause of weight fluctuations. Loss of libido could be due to staying up late, kids, being tired, husband/boyfriend not being all that connected to you (no time alone) etc.

Eat mostly protein (I like turkey, chicken, occasional steak or burger for iron) and veggies (I like raw veggies and salads, or veggies, especially spinach, with eggs for breakfast). Fruit for dessert (I like frozen bananas, grapes, fuji apples - an apple a day really works). Minimal processed foods or drinks (no diet coke or corn syrup drinks) except maybe sparse condiments. Lots of water. No fizzy drinks. Minimal alcohol. Vitamin supplements (choose carefully and add gradually). After I did this for awhile, I felt awesome, mostly relative to energy and digestion. The body was designed to work with protein and veggies as fuel - not sugar or flour or factory chemicals. There are ways to treat yourself so that you don't feel deprived AT ALL. We are just brainwashed into eating processed foods. You can make your own candy by combining nuts and mini chocolate chips, or peanut butter or coconut in a tiny bowl. My breakfasts are better than anything I could get in a restaurant, and my chicken tenders salad is TDF.

Also daily yoga, high intensity cardio and walking. Yoga and cardio teach you how to breathe and fill up your lungs with oxygen. HIIT makes you feel strong, but it's hard - make sure your body can handle it before you go all out and protect your knees and lower back. Walking lubricates your legs, hips and lower back. Take good care of your lower back and posture - yoga will teach you some great moves for those.

You may just be getting to an age where you need to pay more attention to your body. Take the care of your body up a few notches and see what happens after a few months.

I was without my kitchen for a couple of months due to remodeling. The lack of specific nutrition really drained me. In addition, my exercise room is filled with remodeling materials so I can't do my HIIT videos. All this really makes a big difference in my energy levels, strength and mental outlook/confidence. I need to get back to the disciplined habits too. I have had my kitchen back for a couple of weeks now and it has made a world of difference. Now I need my exercise room back.

Regarding the nurse's comments, take it with a grain of salt. I was told by a nurse that it's ok to put on weight (into the "overweight" BMI category) and I don't agree with that at all. It's not a vanity thing - I just want to be able to move comfortably, and when I get to a certain weight that becomes much harder. It's a convenience thing for me. Medical professionals don't always have the best "healthy living" advice. There is a lot more to it than common knowledge - do some research on paleo, cholesterol myth, saturated fat misconceptions and other food/nutrition topics and you'll learn how controversial a lot of this stuff is. You can make decisions on what is best for your body.
