Full frame replacement, white exterior, woodgrain interior. Also interior wood trim stained to match and installed. Total came to $11,100. Seems a bit rich to me....See MoreHow Much to Prep a Plot for a Mfg Home Installation
Comments (19)Cathy, with my garbage bill we're paying almost exactly the same in lot rent. I don't want/need amenities; I've lived in apartments with club houses, etc., and never used them. I'd rather save the $$ and use it for any "amenities" of my own choosing, i.e., a dinner out, a show, whatever. The Spokane library system is great, and even though our library here in Cheney is tiny, they can order any book I want through the system. I also like that my MHP has only 38 lots. It's an unusual park, in that the lots are in one straight row on one side of a long road (read: dirt road). We have a community shed where anyone in the park can borrow a lawnmower, weed whacker, and many other yard tools. Just sign the sheet and return it same day. A neighbor of my brother's, outside of Olympia, has a neighborhood "library." It's a tiny little wood shed at the front of his property. You can take a book, leave a book, return the book, or keep it. He rarely has to re-stock it, as people enjoy leaving books they've read for others. If the supply does get low, he hits up friends of the library sales. I'm strongly considering trying that here....See MoreChoosing a Faucet for the Kitchen (Which MFG)...
Comments (21)@MMiller: That’s interesting on the non-alternating. That would be a total deal breaker for us. I can’t find any documentation on the KWC Sin with regards to that, will be calling them about it. The Axor Citterio, at least according to the reviews on Amazon, can switch back and forth, but I’m going to call HansGrohe about that too. @rococo: I didn’t love the spout on the Rohl. The two buttons was weird for me, I don’t know… On MGS: We saw that one, the sliding button…I just couldn’t get behind that, seemed really awkward for me. We cut out Brizo, the similar one my wife looked at for 3 seconds and said: Heck no. We owned the hands free sensate and we’re not going to buy it again. If we go the Kohler route we’ll go with the normal one. The hands-free would activate with steam in the basin and that was totally painful! We had the normal Simplice in our laundry and really liked it. It was a solid faucet, worked well, would buy it again, but it isn’t as “pretty” as some of the other ones out there and I would really like a stainless steel unit. So right now it looks like the Axor is going to be our direction on it. Since I've got you guys here: If I'm starting from scratch is it "stupid" for me to do a two hole unit? I really like two hole units, but I'm worried about resale. We're doing a major kitchen remodel, the kitchen is going to be pretty incredible in the end, I'd hate for someone to see a two hole faucet and be "eww."...See MoreSeeking RTA Cabinet mfg's w/ have rift sawn white oak with slab fronts
Comments (11)Thanks, all. Conestoga doesn't do frameless, so they are out, amongst other reasons about their business workings, which I won't delve into but have made the news. H202, I suppose that is true in some situations, but there is no way standard dimensions can work for us without filler strips in many different locations. Raimondi and HU*, Doesn't sound like you are particularly familiar with the RTA market. Maybe true for 85% of the places, but there are some well produced cabinets coming out of places like barker, scherrs, conestoga - just have to find the right place. Millworkman - not necessarily. Cheap shops, yes, but the upper end RTA mfg's will go to 1/8" or 1/4" increments in multiple directions. Filler strips aren't going to work well in this situation... definitely need a mfg that can get to the nearest 1/4"....See MoreRobin Drake
