Quick help needed: new kitchen faucet. Get brass??

Hi all,

So, our kitchen faucet hose (pull out faucet head) has broken and while we can replace the hose (special order, unfortunately), we are also going to look into replacing the faucet. Our kitchen is French Provincial in style, done by previous owner. I think they may have replaced the faucet since redoing the kitchen in 2000, as the drain ring and garbage disposal ring are brass but the faucet is chrome. I am thinking of going with brass, but have a budget of less than $500 (so most fab brass fixtures are out). Thoughts? I did some research and know that mixing metals is fine and I can go with chrome again, or another finish. It would probably be polished brass, since most manufacturers offer that, although I would really like unlacquered brass.

Thoughts?

Thank you!
