Comments (65)First of all, Merry Christmas to all and a big thank you to Kelli. In Kelli's Christmas package there were two things that were not wrapped so I enjoyed them right away and put the other things under the tree - opened them today and loved everything! Kelli sent the cutest Snowman's Garden sign, a Maxine Calendar (her sayings are so funny!), chocolate walnut fudge (yum!), brown sugar & fig shower gel (that sounds kind of "yum" as well...LOL), a lovely book called Country Living Seasons that has holiday ideas, garden information, and crafts (just my kind of book!), and a gift card from Lowe's (you can bet I will visit the garden center once it warms up...) I hope I didn't forget to list anything. There were so many packages - my family kept wondering how many more when I was opening them. Anyway, Kelli, you have been an absolutely fantastic pal all year. I don't even know how to express my thanks for all that you sent. Beth, you are welcome for the gifts I sent. We had a short year together, but it definitely was fun. (...and Jan, if you are still reading the Round Robins, it was fun sending to you as well.) I also want to thank everyone who participated in the Circle this year. So many of you remained for the whole year and were so wonderful in all that you did for your pal. We missed those who had to drop out, but certainly understand that things happen. Enjoy the remainder of the holiday season! Jeanne...See MoreStarting from dirt- literally! Comments (178)Not really bathroom related, but yet another tale for those who love stories about MrG - we are in the process of finishing off the rest of the useable basement (all of it minus the utility) and MrG has reared his ugly head yet again - remember wayyyyy back at the beginning of this adventure when I talked about the wavy concrete floor - OMG. So the rest of the basement is going to be loads of fun. It's out of level over an inch in quick checks - problem being it's too high in those spots - compared to where we will meet at the doorway (now beautifully tiled) to the laundry room. No, I will not let Mr.Hunzi break out and replace the concrete - we all know how that turned out last time, the end result may have been lovely, but the 10yr wait and the 3yr process is just too much for a second round of that sort of fun. ;-) And the future flooring is lovely, not inexpensive heart pine - unless I have to find an alternative to accommodate the Ghost of MrG. For lottery ticket and enduring and nancy who kept me company through the whole saga of bathroom and dirt before - come over and offer your wisdom at the home decorating forum - which is where I thought might fit best for the Studio Pink Babe Cave Adventure!...See Moreaccessorizing
Comments (150)Sharon, thank you :) I purchased her a few years ago at Marshalls if I remember correctly. At one time when there was a constant flow of the male and female busts, I think she was only $12.00 or so. She is made from some kind of resin material. I haven't had time in the last few months to do any decorating, I am remodeling, I have taken down 3 walls so far, which incorporates me redoing my livingroom, dining room and kitchen UGH! A major undertaking since I did the tear down 95% myself; fun but very messy, it looks like a tornado hit my house LOL. I am hoping by Christmas it will be mostly finished....See MoreI have cabinets!!! (Cooking Apple Green preview)
Comments (66)Well, of course you have that same photo. You have good taste! LOL Thinking out loud here (or rather thinking through my fingers).... Given the choice between painting the hood the same as the walls or painting it to match your lovely green cabs, I'd paint it to match the walls. Picture this vertical image: black range, stainless backsplash, wood trim, green hood standing out against a wall painted a different color. Or: black range, stainless backsplash, wood trim, painted hood blending into the wall. It think the latter presents a calmer picture overall, especially given the varied pattern of your tile backsplash. As for what color to paint your walls, hmmmm. Are the putty cabs close in color to the grayish tiles in your backsplash? And does that color blend well (in same color family) with the SS treatment behind the range? If so, using a paler version of the putty cabs will give a soothing, pulled together look while pulling in the wall of cabs across from the range. But frankly, Farrow's cream is calling my name (pick me, pick me, pick me). I think it matches the mood of your happy green cabinet color so well and will harmonize nicely with the hood's wood trim and the wood floors. I also like that it picks up the cream tiles, especially since I don't see that color used anywhere else in your plan. Oh, but I forgot to take into account your counters! Danby marble has gray veins, right? That's brings a lot of cool tones to the space as well. Perhaps enough for you? So I think it comes down to this: If green is your primary color for your space, what do you want to use as the secondary color, mushroom or cream? Are you aiming for a soothing, serene space (mushroom) or a cheerful, retro feel (cream)?...See MoreRelated Professionals
