Comments (9)It looks like some regrading may be needed with the new steps. A concrete walkway from the sidewalk, along the driveway, then a right turn and a short run of 3 or 4 steps with a black iron railing would work. It will need a safe transition from the sloping driveway to the new level walkway. Since this redo is going to cost a bundle, you may want to hire a professional landscape designer who can present options within your budget. If your plans are to start next year, in the meantime you can plant a bag of 50 or 100 bright daffodils where you took out the shrubs. Move them when you install the new landscaping....See MoreNeed advice on front landscaping

Comments (11)Hi All, Thank you for the feedback. Next year we are planning on planting a Japanese Maple tree on the left hand side in front of non bay windows. But in the meanwhile I spoke with the better half and we have narrowed down to the following plants any suggestions on which to use or not use along with placement would be greatly appreciated. Boxwood shrubs Hosta gold dust aucuba Blue star petunias Dark star coleus Volcano coleus Gomer waterer rhododendron I would like to get these planted this weekend as the house currently looks naked without any plants out front. In regards to the shutters we are going to keep them as we like the look. As for the trim on the bay that is the frame itself I may try and paint it later in the summer when I have more time to make it more uniformed with the rest of the window casings....See MoreAdvice on front door color, decor and landscaping
Comments (5)You have a Colonial Revival house, popular 1900-1940. Your home and you decide what you love…however, the shutters do not fit the windows, except the two single windows. Were your house mine, I would remove them. The bay window is new to the house, so again, I would replace with the what was original to the house. Love the air lock entry and the paned glass. Keep a light on a timer because it is striking. I like the door color as is, but I would paint the storm the same color (including the safety bar). Landscaping looks good, except for the laurel, which is hiding the window. Laurel’s are meant to be pruned and there is a good possibility if you take it way down, it will grow thick and you can continue to trim it low. I could see black planters on the steps....See MoreYardvaark
