Red oaks with less than green leaves

Live on a Sandy Loam on top of red sandy clay (down to about 8') on top of Pure Sand... I have two red oaks that i planted down by the tank. One was an 8' variety bought at a local nursery. the other one was an acorn i planted last year from a tree that is growing near my work, which was doing well growing on highly alkaline soil. My question is do either shumardii or texas red oak have issues with going back to slightly acidic to neutral soils? All the info i find is for the other way around (tree from acidic not doing well on alkaline).
