Too Long to Spring (not all roses) some photos.
Comments (8)Quadra.. With the limited amount of climbers I can use, this one in particular is a star. Well, again a star, if you dont count that it has like a very limiited scent, can have massive thorns and such.. but again, in the northeast , beggers cannot be choosers. ... Also, If i remember correctly , this seedlings would probably be a semi evergreen. I would have to evaluate it further. I dont go out of my way to breed dormants. I do use some of thier genes from tiem to time. The only drawbacks ive seen in my climate, is sometimes ratty spring growth from non dormants....See MoreSome Spring photos
Comments (26)Murahilin- I got 5 pulasan last summer. 4 are doing ok, 1 not so much. I am hoping for them to perk up this year. JSvand- living here does make tropical gardening easier! Pug- you should try soursop. I agree with Harry- I am more put off but the fiber/texture. But my husband likes the fruit a lot. Most people like the canned juice, but I don't think it tastes anything like the fruit! Mangodog and Jfernandez- thanks, but while my mango trees also look good, I rarely get fruit. Too wet where I live. Believe me, I envy much of what I see in everyone else's pictures! Mangos draping from trees, bunches of lychees, dragonfruit cactus loaded with beautiful fruits. We all want what we can't have, so that is why we keep trying....See MoreSpring photos!
Comments (15)Anna-Lyssa I, too, am a big fan of RdR. A truly great rose. I use it frequently in clients' gardens as a gateway to OGRs. It's pretty bulletproof in Portland, and its history makes for a fun story. I love its connection to the Middle East and the romance of Damask roses, walled gardens, rose oil and ancient trade routes. I have a friend who is Persian American, and we created a design for her new front garden: it's kid-friendly, sensory stimulating, low maintenance and a celebration of her heritage. My RdR sends offshoots into the garden and I enjoy potting them up and sharing them. Portland is known as the City of Roses. I'm doing my best to transform it into the City of Rose de Rescht. :-) I attached this photo on another thread, but I'll drop one here, too. (Most of my photos are locked up on my ancient, soon-to-be-replaced computer.). Thank you for sharing the lovely photos of your lovely garden. Your outdoor spaces could spring straight from the pages of a Pre Raphaelite art book! Carol...See MoreFor our spring roses humor, "roses.......sandals"
Comments (9)I absolutely love clogs like that while growing up as a child. The height was normal not high and very comfortable . It makes beautiful noise unless when you ran than you will cover your ears...lol. I look for Chinese clogs when i went to Singapore about 4 yrs ago. On my list was this clogs and Chinese umbrella with so complicated design when you open up but it is music to ears when rains pour :) I was very disappointed when i could not find one. Looking at designers shoes reminds me of Chinese shoes :)...See MoreUser
