Do you have some kind of medical issue that requires you live in a 78 degree environment? If not then your landlord is well within his right to regulate the temperature the way he is. If 74 degrees is to cold for you you might want to consider a talk with your doctor instead of your landlord. I've no doubt if you owned your own house and paid for the gas, oil or electric yourself, your tstat wouldn't be anywhere near that set point.

A file is possibly currupt, not the card. The camera stores the files in folders for that day (my canon does at least). Maybe a file was currupt in that folder. I have a Canon PoS, I mean, P&S and it does this more than I care for. Not really a problem, just really annoying. Did you remove the card, while the camera was on? FYI, you can recover files from the drive, but the more pictures you take on that card, the harder it becomes to recover. It is writting over the previously stored information. I still think you should reformat the card.

You will need to get Brother PED Basic..software with a card writer. You will be able to send designs from your computer to the card in the card writer and take to your machine, The machine uses ,pes format. You can buy the PED Basic pkg from ebay, Walmart on line, Amazon, Allbrands--many locations. Look for your best buy...it normally sells for around $100 new. Does your machine have a slot for floppy disk? If so, you can do transfers with a floppy drive and diskettes, tho diskettes are getting hard to find. Have you looked for the manual at the Babylock site? There are sites for D/L manuals for free. Have fun!
