Need to replace my Knock-Outs with a lower-growing species
Comments (7)What about Red Cascade? It can be trained to climb, but also "creeps". However, at least on my plant the flowers are tiny. And how do you feel about Wing-Ding? That one makes a statement, does not resent pruning, in fact reblooms all the time in my friend's garden. I haven't tried Peter Pan, but it looks like it stays very small. I am purchasing it from Heirloom later today. They have both Wing-Ding and Peter Pan on sale for $5.95! They have Red Cascade as well, but I might have seen that one somewhere else for less than $13.95, which is their price....See MoreKnock some sense into me please...
Comments (2)WHAM! Did that work? Okay, remodeling anything, let alone a whole house renovation is an ongoing process, not a lump thing. At least for most of us. So you start with the structural, like the wiring, and work your way out. Are you asking about tiling the kitchen or the bathroom? What panels? You mean wood panels? Where? Yes, you should "clean like a big girl," but you don't need to pay for surfaces that make it harder to clean :) And whatever you get, it should be something that looks good to you and your DH as well as respecting the style of the house. Is that enough sense?...See MoreNeed help with my knock out roses
Comments (4)I don't see a picture. However, check the soil and watering and the soaker hoses. They can get clogged, and not emitting as much water as you think. Also, Knock Outs rarely need treatment with a fungicide, and in many cases, they don't react well (especially if they aren't getting enough water)....See MoreNeed help diagnosing my double knock out roses
Comments (8)I'm with Sheila; using those two chemicals is overkill. The main thing newly planted roses need is regular watering and time to make root growth before any fertilizer is applied. KnockOuts are really tough so I suspect something more is going on here. There may be air pockets around the roots, which prevents the roses from taking up water. Check the ground around the base of the roses by pressing down with your feet to ensure the soil has been firmed around the roots. Then apply water and observe closely; if bubbles appear on the surface you have have air pockets. When planting, it's a good idea to fill the planting hole just halfway with soil, then water until bubbles no longer appear, then fill the hole up the rest of the way and water again....See Morerobo (z6a)
