How do you wash your muddy disgusting garden gloves.

When weeding is in full swing as it is for me right now, it seems I get four or five pair of garden gloves to a level of mud and dirt dappled with a few slivers, bark and dirt that my washer must really resent. So I hose them, and soak them or sorta wash em really well on my hands before they go to the washer. I use the green rubber and yellow garden gloves, and some cloth. Leather I don't worry about laundering. I bet you guys have come up with some clever solutions for cleaning your favorite gloves. I would love hearing them!
