Re Mindstorm's comment, IKEA provides Chicago screws to connect the cabinets together at the front. You have to pick one of the holes that is not being used for door or drawer hardware and drill through to the outside, then the screw simply slips through and you tighten it up. It's looking great! But is there a reason you don't have a back on the cabinet to the right of the sink? You really need the back on there to square up and strengthen the cabinet, even if you have to make cutouts later for plumbing/wiring.

So we started moving in. The countertops are not in yet. But I found myself thinking we have too much wood. We have wood everywhere in every room. I found myself feeling like we are in a cabin. How can I lighten it up? A friend suggested rugs for under the dining table and under the furniture in the adjacent living room. But what else can I do? Maybe the walls are too dark. Maybe the island should be more of a cream.

The seedling caught my eye before I pulled it out of the bed, irawon. I was just walking around, taking pictures, pulling tiny weeds out of the beds and almost pulled it out. I looked around to find more, and there are tons of em coming up under and around where Dick Ward, Christmas Tree and Gosan Sunproof are growing. This one is just kind of novel to me because it's the first seedling I've ever discovered growing among my hostas. Of the seedlings I looked at closely, this one definitely seemed to have the most substance. Super-tiny, that "stick" in the picture is a pine needle. Hostas are fun : )

I checked out Old Faithful which is exactly what I was envisioning but the cost is quite high. Does it really have sturdy stems or will it flop? I like Dad from the google images but haven't found a source yet.
