The soil just looks damp in three picture from the time of day and the shadow from my phone, the soil is just naturally a lil wet like when from the bag (you kno what I'm taking about) but other then that there just kinda looking a little bruised and sad at the moment from the fall......I'm hoping they will recover they are my favorite color and look so bright and nice on my porch.. Since there roots were very short and the plants have petals it was a challenge to repot them and not cover the leaves when covering the roots....it was a pain in the butt and they are kinda covered in dirt at the moment...but i used a little rooting powder on the roots to see if that helps them take to the new soil I've potted them in. I hope they do well in a few days I'd be heart broken if they died cause the wind was to strong! ! :-(

i weeded all my flower beds, cut back my roses etc...on tuesday. Woke up wendsday for work and remembered quite well all those muscles that i had not used all winter, you know those you dont remember having in those spots! I work twelve hour shifts as a nurse and they got quite a kick out of me walking bow legged and having to pull and push myself up. I personally never saw the humor :P . My dad refers to ever flower my mother and i have houseplants and outside plants as either gazalia's or zuchinni and informed me if i had not planted so many of each i would not have this problem grrrrr. Some peoples kids!

It will not hurt to leave the foliage and let them die back. Most (?) people probably pull them off once they have dried, because it is easier that way. The only negative to trimming them back when they are not dry and brown is a risk of spreading possible HVX (hosta virus x) or maybe nematodes by using the clippers. It is a good idea to always wipe the clippers with bleach between plants. That said, if you have not introduced any new hostas for several years, there is probably not much risk. I would let them die back before cleaning.

Your peony grows large tubers storing the energy provided by the foliage. Removing the foliage will cut off this supply and reduce the vitality of the plant, so I would not recommend doing it. Al
