What is this little guy? Is he eating my strawberries?

He's not really a good guy but I don't think he'll hurt your strawberries (I'm sure more knowledgeable folks will let you know!). He looks like an immature stink bug of some sort.

The strawberry looks a little shiny, like it's covered in dried snail or slug slime. Does it look that way in person?

If it's a stink bug, doesn't that mean he eats fruits/berries/veggies? And the shiny part is the innard of the strawberry because something ate away into it.

LOL The good thing is - it looks to be a "Brochymena" kind - it's PREDATORY - it east soft insects! He's been in there for a couple days. Don't use insecticide, until you first try spraying them off with the hose. The water knocks them off the plant, and they can't get back up. If you do this at the first sighting, it will be easier to control. Insecticidal soap is the next line of defense if the hose doesn't work.

Well, you've already learned from your other threads w/these same pictures that that's the tobacco hornworm. Eats huge amounts of leaves. At the size it is, will soon shift into becoming an adult moth.

It is a stinkbug nymph, you would have to research to see if they pit or gouge strawberries. Slugs can produce the damage shown above.
