Ruby red grapefruit tree
Comments (13)UPDATE on my ruby red.... I am really happy that I got this pretty little tree...it is such a pleasure watching it grow... and it really seems to enjoy being hereLOL I still have it in the container...and it has at least doubled in size since I purchased it.... it origanally put on about five small fruit....only one remains now..but it is the size of a small grape....and the tree itself is very small considering it is trying to grow a fruit.... the folaige( leaves) continue to come on and them mature to a darker color... well I am just really pleased with this little thing.... I hope I can keep it alive a long long time.....and possibly plant it in ground in the future....far future... please feel free to continue with suggestions.....I will happily take all and any.... this is such fun.......See More20 ft Ruby Red Grapefruit tree in trouble
Comments (16)Well, after carefully mulling my situation over, I am convinced that the two year steady decline of my large tree is caused by either it's age, ( max life span averages 33 - 35 yrs for these trees, mine is about 30 y.o. ), or it has citrus greening. In either case the tree is most likely a goner, so yesterday I had over my two guys to cut it down and plant the new Ruby Red I bought 4 days ago at Home Depot. The following is the pictorial sequence of a sad demise and an optimistic beginning. Am hoping its just an old tree as Wanda said, and the more I think of it ( a dangerous thing for me ), the more I feel she is right. Felt I had to do something, instead of just wasting another year looking at a slowly dying tree. Want to get some Ruby Reds back in production asap. Now hoping I can download the pics. The old tree that was just cut down was growing right behind the pic of the new 4 ' tree.lol This post was edited by jofus on Tue, Jan 8, 13 at 10:04...See MoreRuby Red BlueStar finally in! Comments (26)I think Modern Aire's prices are comparable to most other big hoods, and I don't think they make their own blowers. We're still waiting for ours, as the salesman at the appliance store forgot to order it. I think he said that Modern Aire uses a Thermador blower, but I'm not positive. I could be speaking nonsense. And yes, they can paint in any RAL color, so I had them do Ruby Red (I think Vent-A-Hood will do RAL colors, too). It turned out a hair different than the BlueStar, but the color is so close that no one is going to notice a difference but me, and I'll forget about it soon enough....See MoreRuby Red Blue Star
Comments (8)Thank you Deegeegirl and Oruboris, Deegee: Actually, the sample chip came from Eurostoves; however, while I was visiting we looked at the sample chip and we agreed it was not the same color as the stove on display. We all agreed the chip was wrong or the stove was wrong. When I received this chip in the mail, I immediately knew it was not the red on display. I feel much better, deegeegirl, that your range is Ruby Red and that it does match the one on their floor. Oruboris, I caved in and purchased the RAL chart from Dorn Color yesterday after calling 30 local paint stores looking for the RAL chart. Accorting to Pritzer Painter, only in rare instances do some areas not have RAL charts in local stores. Lucky me, I live in one of those cities-St. Louis. I just could not stand it anymore not having the color information right in front of me and knowing the chip was probably wrong. The woman at Dorn said in the last six months she has been surprised at how many they are selling. Interesting observation about red versus crimson. I would say the range at Eurostoves had no blue in it whatsover. It was a very bright red. The chip I received actually sounds like it could be color 3004 as it is a deep dark red--almost burgundy. I will let you all know what my Dorn RAL paint fan shows. Teresa...See Morehaku84_zone9
