A copper sink with nickle finish
Comments (8)I disagree that there would be no maintenance... Nickel is a living finish and is NOT like chrome. If it is not coated with some type of lacquer or other finish, it will tarnish. I did some research on copper sinks a while back and did look at Signature Hardware. ...turns out that most of their sinks were imported from China or India. This is good to know if you are considering a handcrated copper sink (whether nickel plated or not). There are issues with lead and other things like poorer workmanship on a lot of those sinks to consider. ...this is from personal experience... We ended up deciding that it was a hand hammered sink from Mexico or nothing (and even then, there are many different quality levels). Again, this is with a copper sink specifically. I would ask them where the sink is made and if it is coated with anything (or whether it's a "living finish" or ?). If you don't mind polishing it and then keeping it waxed, it still may not be an issue for you, but I would want to know before purchasing.... Good luck!...See MoreCabinet hardware finish to go with stainless and copper
Comments (7)Waterstone makes a copper faucet but since your sink is SS I don't think a copper faucet is right. Colonial has copper handles (I think). Waterstone just came out with a line of pulls but pretty pricey. Not sure if all colors available but probably so u can coordinate with their faucets. I know your pain- I hunted and hunted and hunted for antique brass pulls and ordered them. Then second guessed myself, especially when I saw Badgergal's pulls. Hers are SS and the style I wanted but they didn't come in AB. I decided to stick with what I purchased which were solid brass in AB finish. Your colors are similar to ours. SS appliances, cherry cabinets. Lots of pictures posted already so won't bore all with more....See MoreDoes Copper Sink dark finish wear off? & does it go w/ uba tuba?
Comments (13)We bought our kitchen sink from Copper Sinks Online and really liked both the company and their product. IÂm not sure why a competitor would say something like "their patina wears off"? Âsure your sink will change a bit but that would be any copper sink. As posted above, that is the nature or "character" but any light spot will quickly darken. Their sinks are also built like a tank! Way heavier than others we saw. I also agree that cleaning is a breeze and we occasionally wax with the stuff they sent (just a minute or so to apply). Go for copper  you wonÂt be disappointed IMHO. We love ours!...See MoreApron Sinks - Pewter Finished Copper ..... ?
Comments (4)Breezygirl ... The Blanco sinks are lovely and a great option, but I just haven't seen one that has the look that I want. Beaglesdoitbetter ... What a fabulous sink ... with the small exception of the bottom corners which, given my limited patience with housecleaning details, would be a challenge for me. After a quick internet search, I found someone local who makes concrete sinks and counters. I will connect with him this week. Circuspeanut ... Wrinkled linen is the only kind of linen I would have in my house which is probably why I am fixated on a sink with a living finish. Your suggestion to check out lead content, construction method, country of origin, etc., is an excellent one. Ordinarily I would ask those questions, but I let my guard down because I found the sink at VanDykes. Thus far everything I have purchased from VanDykes (and I have purchased a ton) has been of excellent quality. I assumed, foolishly, that if the sink passes muster with VanDykes, it would pass muster with me. My assumptions have turned on me in the past, so I will be certain to get the facts before I make a decision....See MoreRebecca
