Thermador p304 cooling fan is annoying
Comments (24)As a Thermador owner, I will make sure to check out fan noise FIRST when I look for my next range. White noise is the bane of my existence, and SVCMGR's advice about listening to a "live" appliance in a home kitchen setting is so true. I've had my Thermador for a few years and I've not noticed the air blowing out of the front--but this fan noise is absolutely maddening. I figured all other gas ovens with electronics also had loud fans--and I wouldn't have thought the DF would have had it too! I now have a Wolf electric wall oven and consquently go out of my way to use it and never use the Thermador oven. It has a fan, but it's not as loud and it's also situated further away from where I stand (plus its enclosed underneath the counter, to be fair, so maybe that dampens the noise). Once you realize that it doesn't have to be that way, it makes you sad you're listening to all that racket, esp. if you went out of your way to get a quiet hood....See MoreCapital Culinarian cooling fan question
Comments (28)Update on my Capital range cooling fan issue. With the assistance of another member here on Houzz I contacted the focal point for Capital customer service. I engaged with the customer service represenative and sent a video of the cooling fan making a loud noise. It was agreed the fan was defective and needed service and Capital would contact a service repair shop to schedule a time to make the repair. The Capital service representative was friendly; however, here we are weeks later and no service appointment has been scheduled. My intial contact with Capital customer service was before Thanksgiving and as of this date I have not been contacted by a repair company or anyone else to schedule service. I am told today when I called Capital they had left a message with a repair shop which was never returned. No additional follow up was ever made by Capital until I inquired. I didn't find this unusual since my initial contact via email to Capital customer service went unread until I called them two weeks after I sent it at which time they opened the message. Some 11 plus weeks have gone by. Two weeks of this elapsed time was on me due to not having access to the range at a second home to attain the serial number. Aside from those two weeks, Capital has been pleasant but ineffectual in getting anything done. I've not used the range other than test it. Perhaps, I'll love it when I use it. Frankly I'm not looking forward to installing the Capital range hood as I dread the idea of finding it too to have a problem. I would like to be able to cross "get new range fixed" off my to do list. One bit of advice to those seeking to purchase a professional range. Call and/or email customer service for the ranges on your short list to see how responsive the service department seems to be....See MoreAmerican Range Performer - experiences of recent buyers?
Comments (164)My Performer range has been in use daily for almost two years (plus an intermittent year prior to that). I am really happy with it and the cooking results. I have also found it light-years easier that the Wolf AG to clean. (I did not replace the Wolf, which I liked, but we moved.) It had seemed to me that the oven might be turning on and off while in use more than in the first year lately, but perhaps not--I am also the one who suddenly looks at a mole and things, "how long has it been that color?" despite seeing it every day. Murch, I read the negative reviews you linked to. One confusion is that people will report problems with the ovens, the ranges, and the company all in one thread. The ovens seem to be more problematic than the ranges. Perhaps I have been lucky, but would not change my decision. I agree totally that the company should stand behind their products, but have not had any to deal with. should add--the Burners do poof when extinguishing, at least the 25k, but not as much as the Wolf. But I had the older semi-open Wolf....See MoreRecent experiences with Fisher & Paykel dual fuel ranges?
Comments (16)It’s in and I am mostly likely having it delivered next week. Apparently you have to claim your rebate before Feb. We ordered the digital 5 burner duel fuel with griddle. I went back and forth so much on the digital version, but once I saw it - I was totally in love. I also can’t imagine cooking without a timer. Yes, people say you have your phone..on our current stove, I use two timers when I have two dishes in, and I even use it when I am making things on the stove and need to come back to it. We had so many delays, sadly it’s going to be months before it’s installed. I think F&P may have some older items in stock (at least when I was shopping earlier in the year). Your appliance appliances store can check. When we were shopping there were so many burner versions of the range. The F&P rep at the showroom told me, they are phasing some items out to streamline their offerings, but I would have been able to order something if it was still in stock....See MoreRelated Professionals
