Hope I didn't make a mistake
Comments (3)We won't go into the why of this lifestyle change as it's none of my business so let's make sure the 1985 is not going to be a major money pit. Have you checked out the flooring to make sure it's solid and hopefully not pressed board. Look underneath the bathroom toilets and the kitchen sink for water damage. If the floors are not good sub flooring there will be major problems there. I'd hate to see you get up in the wee hours to go to the bathroom and fall through the floor. Do your homework regarding the different types of surfaces in your MH and what it takes to get a coat of paint to stick. Most of the surfaces in these older MH's are some form of plastic. Not properly done paint just peels off. What you want to do can be done but just do your homework so that you don't have to spend money later removing it and doing it over which would be much more costly. How about the roof. Check the ceilings in all rooms including closets for water stains and also go up and check the roof for problems. Why buy someone elses problems? Good luck....See MorePlease tell me I didn't make a mistake!!
Comments (13)We've had Sharifa Asma for 2-3 years, and while it's not a very heavy bloomer (so far), I love the fragrance so much that I wouldn't want to be without. Funnily enough, in contrast to Jeri's experience, mine has a tidy, upright vase shape. It's an own root from Chamblee's--perhaps that's part of the reason? If definitely wouldn't be a climber for me. Moderate annual pruning has kept it about waist height, unlike many David Austins I have known (I'm looking at YOU Golden Squid--I mean, Graham Thos). We generally get a smattering of blackspot here in the Austin area in our (mostly) no-spray garden; I haven't noticed a pronounced susceptibility or resistance in SA--it certainly hasn't been a problem rose for us. But definitely give it a chance in your garden! It smells heavenly!...See MoreOne of the BIGGEST mistakes I have learned from..Hoping to help others
Comments (3)Good post. When I first started rooting figs, I put one in a container, not realizing the container was black and would attract heat. The poor little fig stayed alive, but only had 2 leaves for 3 years! Finally a friend told me to douse it really good with water, like 3 times, then put a diluted miracle grow over it. Then cover that black pot with foil. It was a miracle. I was frying it's roots, and didn't know. The little thing finally grew. It is now a big tree in ground. The best thing that happened was the tree did have FMV, but after the root frying ordeal, the FMV is gone. There is research on that topic, but I'm not into that, so all I know is, "It is what it is."...See MoreAm I making a mistake by not making my appliances matchy matchy
Comments (24)re ice maker. We have had this model twice. We had a 2008 model in a prior house that we did not buy. That one had the ice freezing problem. It wasn't a huge deal - we just thawed the ice every few weeks and start over. This one we have now is a 2014 mode that we plugged in about a year ago. No ice trouble. It is very quiet. The filtered water works great. No complaints. I found a bunch of the filters in a mark down section and bought them up. So far, they last us about 6 months each. Easy to replace. Don't throw away the plastic part that attaches to the filter. I did that the first time by mistake. I had to order another online....See MoreHerrProfessorDoktor
