Pics of Some of My Babies/Waterfall
Comments (4)Thank you Sheepco and Brenda. I'm partial to NoeyeKoi too....I feel so bad that he/she only has one eye, but he seems to do just fine. It's funny sometimes when I sit and watch them after I've thrown some food in, Shadow, the other big koi I got the same time as Noeye, seems to help Noeye find food by nudging him/her along in the direction of the food. The guy I bought them from said they hung together the whole time he had them. All in all, there's not a fish in my pond that I don't enjoy watching. I was hoping to post some pond pics today, but my computer was down last night....hopefully tonight I can get some posted. Again, if anyone can tell me what kind of koi some of mine are, I'd really like to know. Thanks! Cindy...See MoreMore baby pics
Comments (11)I do experiment, I have a couple in baggies in vermiculite only, some get coverd, some dont, I have some going in water only.....oh the possibilities are endless......I dont date though, I take lots of pics, and date those, so that helps me quite a bit, although the dates are not exact, they are within a week or so. I love AV's they are so fun to play with.......I just repotted my "Variegated Fantasy AV" (I had to use brackets, cause its just such a cool AV) and I found a couple suckers, YAY!!! Comments (30)First is the big labeled family photo. Citrus: there's seedling lemon, tangelo, pummelo, yuzu, along with an unlabeled sudachi. There's also a larger grafted yuzu and a grafted calamondin. As for non-citrus, there's three nightshades (tamarillo, naranjilla and coconas), two pots of seedling guavas, and a rather spindly ice cream bean seedling. Second is the unlabeled pic. Third, is a closer view including the big yuzu and calamondin, the pummelo and tangelo in front of them, and the big naranjilla on the right side. Last, this is a close-up of some of the seedling (non-grafted) citrus - from top to bottom, yuzu, pummelo, tangelo and sudachi. The black pot is tamarillo sprouts, which I need to thin out. To me, the only notable thing here is how different papeda-type citrus look from other citrus when young - smaller, slower in growth, smaller leaves, but very lush, small (not visible in this pic) spines, but more of 'em than other citrus. Comments (12)Wow it must take you weeks or longer to plant all of your non-hardy stuff! I second that agave, it looks massive. It is strange how some trachys will occcasionally put out 360 degree leaves like that. I have one that did for a while, and now it's back to 180 or less. Speaking of elephant ears coming back, neither of my big thai giants made it, but apparently they both produced small babies at their roots, and now I have four from the original two. The larger ones rotted....See Morespacecoast_fl_zone_9
