Comments (12)ch3rri If I had some to pass around I would give you some. Nearly all the trees I will be getting rid of are small. For sure to small to take cuttings from if I plan to sell them or give them away. The duplicates of the better varieties will likely be sold on eBay to help defray my costs. Next year I plan on getting some cuttings from the UC Davis USDA National Clonal Germplasm Repository. They ship for the cost of postage and have a lot of great cultivars available. Wish I had been getting cuttings from them all the time. I spent $ 46.00 for cuttings this season and nearly all of them are available for postage had I gone through the National Repository. Figs are so easy to root too. This season all I did was make pots out of used 1-2 liter soda bottles. I filled them with a light soil mix and watered as needed. Almost all of the cuttings rooted and are growing. Most of the trees fruit the 1st year. Comments (17)Well..you are right about the summer maximum but to call this a monsoon....BEtween 2000-3000 m etres, where P. martinezii grows they get 680mm on average. So the circulation may well be that of a monsoon but the result is unlike what the word monsoon in general seems to imply. I also found out that the average temperature is a staggering 14 C (annual average). That is really high for a spruce. The climate is classified as oceanic. Okey, more like Southern France oceanic or NW Portugal Spain Oceanic. But than with less rain. Summer precipitation is probably 200-300 mm but the growing season is much longer. Probably all year round or at least march-november. This means that growing season precipitation is lower than that of most parts of NW Europe (much lower). It may succeed in the eastern US, but not where temperatures can drop to -20 or lower I think. I guess this spruce is may be a zone 9 one. But unsure....See MoreTo buy furniture or not to buy furniture?...that is the question.
Comments (3)Nope....I would want to see at least part of the grouping in person, touch it and look at it from all sides before I popped for that kind of money. I have had enough problems with ordering a piece in a certain color or finish after seeing seeing something in a furniture show room. Linda C...See MoreQuestion about buying used sofa.
Comments (4)Its not about the brand, its about the condition of a sofa. A lot of things are used up . Also, check if there are pets in the house and if there are, know that flea eggs live in sofas, pull the cushions off and look to see if the sofa is infested. Flea eggs are white dots. Bring home a sofa with flea eggs and you will become the host! It's happened many times. Here's an example from a person that emailed to me about getting new cushion cores last week and she sent me this photo. I sent it back to her with the arrows and comments on it. "I just bought a used Restoration Hardware Maxwell 9' Luxe sofa on Craigslist that is in desperate need of new cushions; the sofa is two inches lower than it should be and I think it's due to the flat cushions. That said, I did get a pretty great deal on it! I don't want that gross worn down look that is on the display models; instead I'd like a full cushion that is great for snuggling. All of that to say, what do I need and where is the best place to buy replacement cushions?" SOMETIMES things on Craigslist belong in the landfill, this is one of them. This sofa is used up and broke down, the spring edge is collapsed, its ready for the trash. New seat cores are not going to help it. Be smart and look the piece over well before you buy pre-owned furniture....See Morewekick
