Need a closer photo of the leaves. Which part of Queensland are they used as street trees? I can't work out the name that you said was suggested, "flinders is Australis"?

Sorry it was autocorrect that changed it, it was supposed to be flindersia. I've seen the trees growing naturally in the amamoor state forest and they are also street trees in Hervey Bay (craignish). I'll have to try to get a close up tomorrow without looking like a stalker in the neighbourhood :)

I looked up Flindersia australis and it does resemble what is in your photos. And its distribution also matches. This is the description I found:

"Description
Crows ash is a tall dense rainforest tree. The
leaves have 3 - 13 elliptical leaflets, and are glossy green with paler
underside. It produces panicles of cream white flowers in spring and
summer. The fruit are woody capsules with short prickles."

Mind you I'm only going off photos but Flindersia australis does look correct for this. Unless it's another of the Flindersia species. The leaves do somewhat resemble Canarium australianum or Khaya senegalensis but those trees have quite a different shape.
