Pebble Pool Finish Tahoe Blue pictures - Florida Stucco vs PT/PS

I am posting this because we are just now finishing a pool build. 3rd pool we have had. Our last pool we refinished with Pebble Sheen Prism Blue. While I didn't care for look of the actual finish in sample form, it produced a color we loved. And the finish looked beautiful everywhere but the first step. It looked nice but a bit funky. If you've ever seen the sample of it, you will know what I mean. With our current pool, we agonized over the finish primarily because the builder was going to charge us a fortune to upgrade to any PT or PS product. So our option was to use Florida Stucco pearl or petite pearl products. I was not happy with the Florida Stucco samples, lack of colors or application process going into it. To make matters worse, there is like ZERO pictures on the stuff. I searched the web endlessly, contacted the manufacturer and pool builders who use their product. Really, no pictures? I only found like 2 online for the color I wanted: Tahoe Blue. I really wanted my Pebble Sheen again. I was pretty bitter about it to be brutally honest. However, we were not going to spend the massive up charge. Based on what I already knew about the different color water that various pool finished produced, we picked Florida Stucco Tahoe Blue Pebble (Pearl) - not the petite pearl. We are VERY happy with the color, actually like it better than our old PS because the pebbles are a natural color and easier on the feet. I'm posting pictures to show the color because I sure wish I had some when I was trying to choose. We are not done yet. Waterfall is not going full force. The background shows a very trashed yard that needs total landscaping. We've been renovating an old beach home, so we bought as is...

Mitch~~(That's my Husbands name also :) Sorry it took SO LONG to answer your ??'s, My computer went "DOWN" for a while... They are Mexican Fan palms~they don't flower, not sure why but I'm glad they don't. The palms were $60/5 gallon size when my DH planted them 3 1/2 years ago, I read somewhere that if you trim them alot they grow faster, which seems to be true. I really like the size they are now so I'm not trimming them often... Hopefully that will slow down the growning, They are supposed to get up to 40 feet. My DH used self drilling metal screws to attach the misters to the patio cover, He spray painted the pvc and the screws the color of the cover~before attaching it..

Thanks! Other than the initial tile selection, there really isn't anything else I would change. I thought I was well informed before signing the contract but I realize now how little I really knew. I feel very fortunate to have selected a builder that made the "right" decision for us time and time again. From design to equipment selection to fixing the small things throughout the process I always felt like their primary goal was to make me happy. My advice is to make sure you pick a reputable builder, ask lots of questions, and try to be home as much as possible during the build. It's amazing what the subs will do for you if you're nice to them and don't mind footing the bill for lunch and drinks occasionally.

Pebble Tec is not rough because, as the OP stated, the stones are tumbled. The stones in Pebble Sheen are much smaller, also tumbled, but in addition the Pebble Sheen is buffed before the pool is filled with water. We have Black Onyx Pebble Sheen and love it. The texture of the Pebble Sheen is very much like a basketball or football. To really choose between larger/smaller stones, you absolutely should have your pool builder or plaster company take you to at least one pool with the larger stones and at least one pool with the smaller stones. Be prepared to take your shoes off and step into the pools, so you can tell what it feels like underfoot.

We finally got started planting behind the raised bond beam! Talk about a lot of work! We had to build a retaining wall behind the curved portion of the wall with Castlerock, and those things are heavy! I haven't planted anything along the new sundeck, but hope to start that today. We also still have four Pygmy Date Palms for behind the raised bond beam, that we have to plant. Two will flank either side of the CI Date Palm for some added privacy. Here is a close up of the area we planted: I'm super pleased with the look of the ferns. We're lucky in that we only get about 1 hour of direct sun there a day, and it's from about 5:30PM - 6:30PM. Hopefully these Kimberly Queens will thrive there. I looked forever, before finding these bowls for the lower portions of the bond beam. There is a really good nursery, showcased in Southern Living, in a nearby town. They're my go-to place for hard-to-find Texas plants, and they have awesome decorative items. The bowls look amazingly like Oklahoma Wister flagstone! I've planted this combo before. It'll be white in the back (Angelonia), Liriopi in the middle as a perennial, and eventually the purple Scaevola and New Gold Lantana should spill over the front. With the Blue Plumbago in the back, the color combo should look nice. In about a month, it should be totally full. All I'll have to do is change out the annuals each season for color. The fence is in. Now all we have left is the flagstone inlay and the flagstone on the steps and we're done!

Thank you so much for posting these pictures. These are the only "real" pictures I have seen of FL Stucco Tahoe Blue. I would love to see more angles of your pool -- the shallow end to the deep end.

After all these years, I still love this color. I also love how the pebbles look and feel better than my old house/pool with PS.

I love this color with the sun shining on it! Would you say that in the shade still maintains some of its teal-ness? in other words, does it at all turn Windex-y on an overcast/rainy day? Sometimes it can be hard to judge from a picture. It really is very pretty!

Mrgreenis how does it feel on your feet? We have to use Florida stucco and I’m also struggling to find real pics but when I felt the same of the pebble it felt a little rough. I thought the petite felt much better. And I’m not even sure on the quality of gem…thank you!

I think the color is pretty consistent. I can always tell when the chemicals are not right by the change in color.

I had Pebble Sheen in my previous pool. I honestly found PS to be much rougher than Florida stucco and I have no idea why. I was so upset about having to use Florida stucco for color and feel (I assumed). But in the end I LOVE it better for color of water, color of pebbles and feel on my feet. I was very shocked.

My pool contractor says that Tahoe Blue will fade over time and become uneven in color and we will hate the discoloration. Have you had an issue with this over time?

Do you know what sealer you used? Our friend had an issue with Florida Stucco finish which they attributed to the sealer.
