Gap between backsplash and top
Comments (11)Could you find a pencil trim in quarter-round that might match or accent that transition from tile to counter, that is 1/4 inch measured? Or paint a wooden quarter round in a color close to the greige caulk (or to the grout color)? Caulking wouldn't be a bad idea, but there's also something else to think about. This suggestion of the 1/4 round was brought up. If you CAN'T find one in a color that would work for you, you can always "redo" the color. Simply go to any craft shop, and look for the ceramic stains. They're usually used over raw clay, but can also be used over a glaze. You can change the color to whichever one you like....See MoreGap between backsplash and cabinets
Comments (8)Mrs. S: Ground joints are about 1/8 inch. Tiler did not put a spacer between countertop and tiles. Tiles are 12x12 sheet of beige marble. Grout is ivory. Caulk used here in photo doesn't match grout color exactly so adds to unfinished look. Tiler said cutting marble tiles that small makes them easy to crack. Thank you for your reply. eam44: Gap is between top of backsplash tile and bottom of upper cabinets. Thank you for your reply....See MoreAdvice on a gap between ceiling / range hood
Comments (10)If the gap is a .50 inch or less: have this same issue. i am going to use this self sticking pvc stainless steel color finished trim to mitigate the gap. here is the Home Depot link, but I also found the exact same product on Amazon for the same price. pack of 3 - 24” pieces for $19.99: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Aspect-Stainless-24-in-Vinyl-Backsplash-Trim-3-Pack-935-50/313854875#overlay...See MoreHow to fill gap between stone fireplace and ceiling
Comments (2)I'd shove foam backer rod into the crack so that you have about 1/2" depth back from the surface to fill, and then use paintable latex caulk. The caulk might need a second application because that's a large crack and you could get noticeable shrinkage on the first application, even with the backer rod in place. Stay away from expanding foam as it is hard to control and often messy to clean up....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
