Softening light from Xenon undercabinet lighting

We are finishing up a kitchen remodel. Thrilled with nearly all of it, but undercabinet lighting is a little to whoite/bright (even when on the dim setting) for our white subway tile backsplash. Does anyone know if you can replace the "clear" plastic cover over the light with a slightly darker - or possibly colored cover? The fixtures don't appear to be warm to the touch even after being on for a long time. Would it be possible to cover them with a slightly colored cellophane type material to soften the glow? Or would another material work better? Open to any ideas!
