Whynter countertop icemaker?
Comments (1)I have a friend who has one. I can't remember the size of the cube as they only use it for parties and is behind the bar. I would call them but they are in AZ. Just know that this will not store the ice and you will have to place it in a Baggie and place it in your regular freezer. It does make quick cubes. There was an ad for this unit in a Menards flyer a month or so ago and they were $212. That is a much better deal. When these first came out they were much more $$$. I think they purchased the unit through the Inovations Cat. When they saw it advertised at a lesser price they refunded the diff. Good luck!...See MoreDo I really need an icemaker?
Comments (5)I use three ice cube trays that have covers (by Tupperware), and the ice can remain in the freezer for some time because of the cover. Quick and easy to use and it provides more than enough ice for our day-to-day demands. If we have a party, we can just buy ice at that time. I have an icemaker in my current refrigerator, but never connected it; and when I buy a new refrigerator, I won't connect the ice or water for that one either. I don't miss the icemaker at all, but I can't say whether you will or not. If you feel you will not, then just get some good quality ice cube trays with covers....See Moreice maker recommendation
Comments (8)We just started carrying the Danby DIM3225BLSST which is under $1000. It's an interesting unit as it comes with a pump, can be drained by gravity, or manually drained if no drain is available. It has three choices for ice size. It has a fingerprint-less stainless steel finish. We just don't have a track record on it. The best residential icemaker by far is Hoshizaki. It's the most reliable and the parts can be easily removed without tools for cleaning. The AM-50 makes a "hat" style cube that's clear and great for drinks and coolers. It runs under $2000. The C-100BAF makes a "cubelet" style cube that's small (about the size and shape of a pez candy piece) and clear and hard so it won't melt too fast. Because it's small it can be chewed fairly easily. It runs around $2800. Hoshizaki was discovered by Wendy's when they built a store in Tokoyo. They noticed that the Hoshizaki icemaker didn't have service issues like the ones being used in the States. Wendy's struck a deal to have Hoshizaki icemakers installed in all their stores in America. It's the preferred brand for many commercial companies. Here is a link that might be useful: Hoshizaki C-100...See MorePortable Ice Maker... anyone have one?
Comments (9)Debi... The Magic Chef is the brand I have been looking at... but it is 139.00 at Walmart vs 189.00 at Home Depot. ravencajun... Interesting.. I haven't read anything about the heat from them, that is definitely something to research, thanks for that tip. Robb333... that is a great looking stainless steel model for sure... the only problem is, I could not find the measurements of it.. unless I just overlooked them. Also, it did not say where the vent it, possibly on the left side, or back, since it shows the right side... That would be nice to know since it's possible I might actually use it on the counter top. I have a big enough pantry to use it in, or in the garage, haven't really decided... I do know that Target has some instock so think I will go look at them, it would be a lot easier to return something from there.... If I don't like them I think I will order the Magic chef from Walmart......See Moreplllog
