What kind of soil drench to use before moving containers indoors?
Comments (5)Do you think I should worry about slugs and caterpillars? Not really. They probably won't like it indoors and I would think it quite rare that they couldn't just be removed by hand before any serious problem developed. How safe is Bayer's 3-in-1 Insect, Disease & Mite Control? It's not a "safe" product which is why it's not to be used on anything edible. Edible means anything with even a remote chance of being eaten by a young child or pet you care about. Personally I don't ever use systemic products, but then again I have young kids (2 in diapers still) and pets. Just not worth the worry to me. Comments (16)So, the Bayer Advanced Complete Insect Killer For Soil & Turf Ready-To-Spray site says this: This product is a totally different way to control the insects that want to destroy your prized lawn, roses, flowers, and other ornamental plants. The unique two-way blend of insecticides controls current insect pest problems and prevents reinfestations for up to 90 days. The residual component is actually taken into the plant. Rain or water cannot wash off this internal protection! Insects are killed when they come into contact with the product or when they attempt to eat the plant. So, they are saying that there is a systemic action as well as the contact....See MoreBayer adv disease control
Comments (8)I use the Disease Control product as a spray as needed. Most of the fungal problems I have crop up in the winter while its wet. Frequent spraying (2-3 weeks) helps control the disfiguring black spots. I probably won't be using it again until winter. I noticed that there was none of the old B T&S at OSH recently. There were several new formulations for trees and shrubs, and lawns, some containing different amount of fertilizers. It looks like Bayer Tree and Shrub Landscape formula is the way to go. It is twice as concentrated as before (now 2.94% imidacloprid), so use 1/2 ounce, 1 tablespoon per gallon. Another good product, although relatively expensive to use, is Bayer 3-in-1 Insect, Disease, and Mite control. Use as directed on the label. Most of the time, I don't need the 3-way treatment, and it is cheaper to use the single ingredient products...See MoreCan Bayer Insect/Mite Control also be used as a soil drench on brugs?
Comments (3)Dont expect to call and get any advice off label, you can thank the regulators and lawyers .... If you want a systemic Use their Tree and Shrub product but it will have little effect on mites that are present . You will need to Spray the Insect, Disease and Mite Control or another mitacide , they are tough little bugs......See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
