Where can I buy Plumeria in Dallas?
Comments (43)Loews in Texas City had them too. I couldn't believe they wanted $29.95 for one in a 5 gallon pot, barely a couple of feet tall!! Anyone wanna pay that much I'll sell you a LOT of them! I'm not sure about rooting them in a plastic bag, don't they rot? What I've always done is: let the cutting lay around for 1-3 weeks, or longer if you forget or it's winter, then stick it in a pot of good potting mix. Water well, leave it alone, when you see it sprouting water again & water as needed. Too much water & they rot. I just stick 'em out in the garden & they get watered with everything else. Comments (14)I find both ways (running Kerdi through a corner or using strips of Kerdi or Kerdi Band) equally easy. I showed both methods in that Kerdi Shower thread, often times what I use depend on the layout and where the seams will fall. For this 36" by 65" shower, vertical will work. the Kerdi is 1 meter wide, about 39-1/2" or so. On your long wall, 65" divided by 2 is 32-1/2", if you do a 2" overlap in the middle of that long wall that leaves you with an extra 5" of Kerdi to run through each corner. Or a little more overlap (3") in the center will net you a little less running through the corner (4"). I buy through tile-experts.com and tileprotection.com For the wacky neo-angle corner, wrap the material over on itself as tight as you can and if you're really concerned, put a dab of Kerdi Fix on it. Use a pair of scissors and a piece of paper to get a size, cut locations, and folds that will work, then transfer that to a piece of Kerdi. For the corner pieces you want for your bench, if you're using a Kerdi Drain, often times a few corner pieces are included in the drain package. Ask your seller. Some sellers have been known to remove the corner pieces and resell them separately. Mongo...See MoreWhere / where NOT to buy fixtures question
Comments (2)My wife used to work for a tool manufacturer and our friends work for varied manufacturers of fixtures (lighting and plumbing). Sue36 is absolutely correct, if the SKU is the same, so's the item. Sometimes, the SKU can even change and the item be the same. The interiors of plumbing fixtures are not different within a brand name as you go store to store or over the internet. I.E. the guts of all American Standard toilets are the same for a model whether it's sold at HomeDepot, Lowe's, or PlumbingFixtures.com (made that name up). Browse locally, write down model numbers, and search for the best prices online. You'll probably get special order items faster by going online than HD or Lowes. And some items that are special order at the big box will be in stock at a plumbing supply company, but not for a better price. Lighting boutiques have been very dissappointing to me, the selections are so small that I don't even look at prices. They have stacks of catalogs to look through, but heck, why not just browse them online instead of at their showroom? If you find a light you like, but are unsure of what their "Oil Rubbed Bronze" looks like, try and find a local retailer or simply ask for a small sample from the company. And all from the comfort of your home, 24-7....See Morewhere'd you buy your kitchen sink?
Comments (32)Bought 3 anthracite Silgranite sinks off Craigslist. Each brand new and for less than half the normal retail price. Found my kitchen sink on my local (Austin) craigslist and the two prep sinks (one for the TV room and one for the butler's pantry) off the Atlanta craigslist. A friend in Atlanta actually went and made the purchase for me and then held the sink till I could get out to visit her and pick them up. I've discovered that if you are looking for a pretty specific item, it isn't necessary to individually search every city's craigslist. Instead, try googling craigslist plus terms describing what you want. So, for example, I googled "craigslist anthracite silgranit sink" one day and bam, there they were, newly posted in Atlanta. Of course, if you want to buy from a non-local craigslist, it helps to have friends scattered all over the US that you can talk into meeting the seller and checking the item out for you!...See MoreKalai Kennedy
