Facebook. I was so not interested in it, and even after a friend dragged me into it I thought it was annoying. But then I didn't.

Every day for years I've shared one of my dad's photographs or mine--well over 1,000 now. I've connected with cousins I knew about but didn't know, and discovered two I wasn't aware of. It enlightens me and entertains me. It's no wonder I refuse to go near Pinterest . . . I don't need another online addiction. :-)

Since we changed our eating habits, I'm eating mushrooms. They're fried in bacon grease. My kids can't believe I eat mushrooms now. I refused to eat them before and picked them out of anything if I found them in my food. I also eat asparagus. I wrap them in bacon and roast them in the oven. Oh, and butter. Butter, butter. I still have a problem smelling it when it melts in the frying pan when I fry eggs, but we haven't had margarine in the house in almost 2 years. I used to only use butter for baking, but now it's all we use for everything.

I used to like Kelly Riparian when she started on Live, can't stand her now. I used to love pizza, can't stand the tomato sauce anymore. Still hate beets and Brussel sprouts, I've really tried to like both.

Fish. After growing up in the midwest where fish sticks were the only fish we ever had, to living on both coasts where fresh fish abounds, I now love it and get it every chance I can. And I will try different kinds of fish too. That never would have happened if I hadn't left home so many years ago!!

We used to not want to be tied down to a pet, but...I'm smitten. He has such a pure heart.

When I was pregnant with my youngest I started craving dark chocolate and blue cheese even though I hated them before. Do you know how hard it is to find something that has the blue cheese flavor that you can safely eat while pregnant? I still love both of those things.

I've been thinking there's one or more things that fall into this category for me. Not food--I've always loved eating everything (ironic when you consider how limited my diet has had to become)--but something else.

One is public speaking. The first time I had to speak before an audience (a talk at a hospital about breastfeeding) I was extremely nervous, as most people tend to be. I recorded myself at home and cried. I sounded as nervous as I was, and beyond boring.

Then my husband gave me an old book on public speaking by Dale Carnegie. I read it and applied the principles to my speech. What a difference! When it came time to give the talk I got the audience's attention, made them laugh a couple of times, and had a great time. I was hooked! That was about 35 years ago, and since then I've been happy with a microphone in front of me many times.

Brussels sprouts. Dispised them for decades, but now every fall I,m sauteeing them or roasting them by the bucket. Maybe one day I'll actually enjoy carrots or chicken breast. PS I already love all sorts of other veggies.

Brussels Sprouts, cabbage, turnips, carrots, I especially love all the root veggies roasted. Fried calamari only fried very crisp. I was not fond of chicken pot pie as a kid but now I love them. Coconut, I didn't care much for it but now I like it. Floods oh wait yes I still HATEHATE THOSE! lol

gave uo on leg of lamb...my mother used to make the best...all she'd do was sprinkle well with Lawry salt...and she cooked it med well..I've tried few times over the years and always a failure, so quit too $$ to ruin...we'd have it cold the next day for breakfast with pancakes..know that's way out but wow...
