I like "heavenly blue" too- I grew them several years ago, they reseeded once for me, but then were gone- With working full time, I don't get to see them open much, so I have moved on to other things (thanks to GW, w/s and seed exchange!) Comments (29)John, I potted every breweriana and put them in my unheated hoophouse and they all died. During one of the coldest days of the winter I looked outside and saw the hoophouse was ripped to shreds. I had shingles fly off my home and rip the poly. I don't believe it was that single (overnight) event that killed them, however. I rushed and brought everything into my basement and placed them all on blankets, however I couldn't water. Lots of combinations of bad. That beech is an interesting character of a plant John and Robin. It's weeping. It's purple for a good amount of time then gradually turns green. Fall color is pretty decent. Beng: 100% agree. Our thoughts are precisely on the same page. Severn, they'll all return. It'll be five years until they look perfect again. Comments (12)Very nice pictures. Isn't it a treat when a bonus plant thrills you so much? I have several in my garden that I love, and never would have considered if they hadn't been sent as gift plants. I love the bold colors of CONCRETE BLOND and ALABAMA JUBILEE, but I have to choose PEACHES AND GOLD as my favorite (maybe because it reminds me of orange sherbert, which is sounding pretty good right now in the heat!).
