deb, I'm glad you brought up Kropf double. I do have a few and have been holding off crossing anything with my Siloam doubles becuase I wasn't sure if it was worth the bother because it always runs through my mind that the Kropfs seems to be a hose-in-hose type double and my other doubles are all stamen petals (not sure if I"m terming all that right) so thus I wasn't sure about crossing. although I will say I was looking at Missouri Moon and thinking, well maybe it does have petal formed stamens... hmmm. I guess I'll have to consider that. I did try some crosses with Double RIver WYe but only one of them formed a pod. I have a beginner plant of Jeffcoat's Style planted next to this orangey double in prep of crossing them someday. ha thanks for the comment. oh yeah and M. Smk Rngs is 3 - 4" yes a smaller one.

Thanks everybody! I usually use my desktop where pictures look like what I see in the garden but it is so old and slow for Photobucket, so I have to post from laptop, and.. I tried brightness controls and stuff but still pics are very dull. Daylilies like Forever Redeemed or Ruby Spider are so bright, yet on my monitor it's a dull dark sort of red. Well, at least it's faster. Regarding NOID #6. I am almost sure it's somebody's seedling, probably Dr.Apps. My SIL bought a bunch of unnamed daylilies from White Flower Farm one year, and I checked their catalog (the one she ordered from) and one of the 'bundles' was seedlings from.. where is that place he used to own? So I guess it (and several other NOIDs) is unidentifiable :) Nature's Crown is not my favorite. It was a bonus, and I don't like doubles. Didn't bloom its first or second year. The plant is short, BC low. As far as I remember all blooms were double. Ha, it's not like the bed is large, it's the yard that is small :) I wish I had just a little bit more room, there are so many DLs I still would like to try. Wren's Song is big, and tall. I like the edges too. It can have troubles opening though. And the color looks peachy in the sun. Celeste, my NOIDs are my oldest daylilies, the first DLs actually. They all perform nicely.

One reason why people seem to follow color trends is that, once those trends have trickled down, furniture and accessories found in the stores in which most people shop are available only in those colors. Depending on your taste, it can make decorating easy or difficult. I recall trying to stage a bathroom in our former house. I'd long since painted the walls a kind of hyacinthy purple blue, with white wainscotting. Could not for the life of me find towels, rugs, mats or accessories in a darker shade of that color. I can't recall what the "in" colors were, but my many trips to stores were in vain. In the end, I went with navy blue, which worked beautifully. Same with another bathroom. It was papered in a document wallpaper, but with a twist on the original color. My paper was turquoise or teal perhaps, with accents of pale teal, old rose, blues; to stage the room, I wanted towels to match. It took forever to find what I needed because the color was not "in." I've long wanted some kind of hyacinth/purple room or at least accents in that color -- ever since buying my first book by John Saladino way back when. Completely fell in love with the color. I guess it's "in" now, but now, I'm not sure I have a room in which it will work. Don't laugh and try not to gag, but the room I'd love to use it in as a wall color has furniture and items in it in tobacco, gold, lacquer red, with an Azerbaijani carpet that has a wheat-colored background and rusty orange, gray, and navy designs. There is also an Armenian runner that has a lighter wheat background and designs in chocolate brown, dark gold, and red. I think the room's size and proportions (about 35 feet long and with low beamed ceilings -- and mostly northern light), the carpet's background color, and our gold chairs make it a no-go, but I love the idea of purple or lavender or lilac with reds and oranges. So instead I might redo a bedroom in a cognac color and paint the ceiling a pale, pale, pale lavender or hyacinth. well this ramble got way off topic! All I'd meant to say was that, from the few "better" shelter magazines I get or read, I think palimpsest is correct that the higher-end magazines show fewer trends than do the mid-range ones. They are also far less concerned with playing it safe. You don't necessarily see every room in beige, beige, and more beige with (oh how daring!) some blue accents thrown in for that little frisson.

Hi all. I finally saw my dr. today and all is good. The biopsy was clean and to follow up with another mammo in 6 months. He did have a long serious talk with me about nutrition and exercise and made sure I understood the importance of both. He ran a program that gives numbers regarding percentages of chances (considering your history etc) of getting breast cancer and my risk is a bit higher than average. I am considering a medication that would reduce my chances by about 50% but wanted to do a bit of research before I make the decision. It was a very long 2 1/2 weeks from first mammo til todays apt and Im so glad it is over. Thank you all for your concern and support. Now, if I could just lose some weight and build some stamina!
