To Fungicide or not to Fungicide?....

I am totally confused at this point... searched in Gardenweb on spraying fungicides and now I'm just flat out confused and on overload.... I read previous postings about it and some people suggested that Copper Fungicide is safer then Daconil. I bought some Copper today but haven't used it yet. I did read, whether true or not, I do not know, that Copper could damage the plant. I do not at this point have any fungus but don't want any either, if possible. Here in Oklahoma it has been raining off and on for several days, we have a break today but more expected tonight... From what I've read, I take it that Copper is a preventative and Daconil is used if your plants have fungicide and some people reported using both?.. Would some kind, more experienced soul please tell me what to do?... Which if either to use?....I obviously need supervision..sigh...
