Around the garden today
Comments (13)That verbena is supposed to be new this year. I have seen it everywhere around here. So far it is blooming like crazy. Hasn't been too hot here yet though. That trandescantia is "Red Cloud". I have a shorter, more well behaved one too. Little bit shorter and more daylily-like with blue flowers. It doesn't flop as much as "Red Cloud" spiderwort....See MoreSome pictures from today

Comments (4)Joe- I cheated :) They are in containers and trellised, that was started in my little greenhouse early and then put outside maybe a month or so ago. There are 4 plants total and will need to be thinned, a lot of fruit! The cucumber beetles are annoying, but they are slow and no match for me. I just squish them. I also have eggplant that have already set fruit! The bugs this year are easily a lot worse then last year. I NEVER sprayed my peaches last year and ended up with a couple 100. Maybe 10 or 20 bad fruit (PC). The Rose Chafers around here are horrible. If i can get around them and the Plum Curculio i could have a lot of fruit. This year everything is pretty light. In 10 years i'll ever be a pro or i'll have converted back to a lawn and be on the riding lawnmower drinking a beer and listening to REO Speedwagon. \\ How about these bananas? To the left in the back is the raspberries (Caroline) and some other junk. I'm going to be up to my ears in hardneck garlic in a week or two. My weed whacker is dead...i need to upgrade :)...See More- 8 years ago
